Facebook PPC extraordinarily expensive indeed

I setted up 2 Facebook ads, both have been approved yet I haven't received a single impression never mind a click. They suggest rising my bid to $1 a click.

I'm completely sure I've heard of people saying Facebook ads are cheaper than Adwords:confused:

So I closed my account. How can you get impressions?

The second I started getting penny clicks with Google I stopped advertising on FB

FB is good for CPA type offers but I think very few viewers are in a "buying" frame of mind when they log onto FB

I think the key to getting a good CTR on FB ads is to split test ads on a CPC basis and then switch out to CPM once you know which of your ads gets the best results

Facebook advertising is not cheap by any means. The power of Facebook is NOT how cheap it is, but how well you can target a niche. For example just this past weekend I spent $30 big ones on Advertising and drew about $900 in sales. Targeting is the name of the game when it comes to Facebook. I believe I can safely say that if you are spending more money on Facebook than you are making back your targeting is off, your ad copy needs to be tweaked, or you picked the wrong image.

True nuff, from what everyone said on this thread I can agree that some avenues may be more expensive but overall can draw in better customers. It may not be the right avenue for your industry or niche is all.

      Bingo.

I've been using the internet since 1994 and I've never actually purchased something through an advert until early 2009, through Facebook.

Since then, it has happened two more times. I've just never been targeted so precisely before!

The power of facebook is being able to target a specific customer. I don't keep up on the pricing between facebook and adwords anymore but I'd be of the opinion that you may be able to get more for your money if you went with facebook, even if it cost a bit more.

Of course, there are plenty of reasons why I stick with adwords to this day but if you're worried about facebook costing more, don't.

They All Told Me Making Money Online Was Just A Scam For The Gullible... Even Though I Was Already Pulling In $1k/Day. Now You Say My Resellers Can Not Make $1k/day But...

You don't have to take the suggested bid. Maybe start with half of suggested bid and incrementally increase the bid until you see clicks. Once you get clicks, then you'll have to do some analysis to lower the cost per click by better targeting.

I'm quite sure if you target locally and specific demographics, your CPC would go down.

I don't like Facebook ads at all. Adwords is far better than FB ads and its more targeted and in some cases cheaper.
