Long-Form Sales Pitches -- Bad for SEO?

Lets face the facts. Most people hate them.

In a niche with a low buyer intent, where people are searching for info, the bounce-rate on these must be pretty high.

I think google must hate these pages, and I feel they will eventually strive to filter them out.

What are your thoughts?

Why would Google want to filter out a result that's directly answering a question or solving a problem?

For example, if I wanted to "Get My Ex Back" .. & typed that in and a product sales page came up at the top... Isn't that exactly what I want?

People use Long Form Pitches because they work, & I don't see why Google would ever see them as anything except more good content for the spider to crawl.

They are good spider food, and may appear to answer questions -- but they do not answer questions. They provide answers, but only when you buy the product.

I am not knocking them, I love pitches and they make me a lot of money.

But I just google will see long pitch page + high bounce rate + poor navigation (usually only at the bottom) + stop words like "guarantee", "buy now", etc. and then penalize these pages.

I'd love to know what others think.

Momo -- I agree with you --- I think Google is cracking down on these. I'd like to hear what SEO people think.

They work great but I agree that content sites that link to sales pages will be the future route.
