Link Building - Blog comments

Hello board,

I was just playing with the software blog comment demon to try to integrate this into my linkbuilding arsenal.

I have noticed that after the search is done, there are tons of blogs that say dofollow links but there are no comments there already. I was wondering if most of these are just blogs where the moderator does not approve comments of if it is worth trying to submit to them?

Do not want to waste my time submitting to blogs that won't approve my comment.

Does anybody have any experience or pointers about this? Has anybody used blog comment demon before or similar software?

Thanks so much in advance,
TheNewb

In general, from what I've noticed, because of the volume of spam, moderators seem to be approving fewer posts because depending on the severity, it can detract from the validity of their blog.

The other action they are taking is to add link redirects. But if it shows dofollow, they must not be using the redirect feature.

Since each blog is different in terms of what is allowed, you may have to test via the trial-and-error process to see or check out the blog's FAQ if available.

One other reason that comments are not there may be because it requires a 'labor' component which the blog owner may not be willing or have the ability to provide to screen those comments.

Spamming is an issue for them. When moderator see spams for Ugg booot, Viagra, Replica hand bags type site, they disable comment facility in those blogs.
Try to put a comment where you see comments with links. You also consider about OBL of the page.

I can relate with what you've been clamoring here. Yeah, I agree with your observation because I myself noticed and got that same result. There are blogs that claims a do-follow yet doesn't function as so.....

For blog commenting, Manual commenting on Do follow auto approve pages is the most effective method. It is a good place to start!!!! Comment tools can't comment on most of the platforms and the spam filters will easily identify the comments put using tools. Still you can have successful posts with it, but the approval rate will be less. However you can overcome some issues if you have experience.

Yes I am agree with you even if the software shows you results of blogs as do follow blogs yet those were no follow or even some blogs are both some comments links in those blogs were do follow and some were no follow. So that I used to search blogs for commenting by Google only instead of any tool.

I like to leave my blogs open to comments but there are just so many spammers out there that take advantage of the situation and you end up with a blog that is nothing but ads for these people.

Comment manually on popular blogs that are do-follow.

It's not the number of comments you make, it's the impact you make with each comment.

I might make 10 comments a day but I treat each comment like a piece of content. I generate substantial traffic from thoughtful commenting.

Most bloggers spot auto-comments a mile away, or they're picked off as spam which of course they are

I have not found a single do follow blog comment even if they have been reviewed as dofollow so I have decided that a backlink is a backlink no matter the type, even if the search engines dont follow a resourceful comment will hail followers

That's excellent advice. I find that I get more links and much more quickly when I post real comments on great blogs and forums. I am interested in the topics so I love posting, and the links just follow. I have had more links from posting one comment a day for a month than with auto systems that claim to post to 1000s per month. Spam gets deleted or de-indexed very quickly. You should have an interest in your market and want to post and help others. If you have no interest and just spam 1000s of sites, it is obvious to everyone - the blog owner, your potential customers, Google. You shouldn't need software to find relevant blogs and forums. You should know all of these because they are in your market.

These are both excellent comments - thanks for this!

If I were you, I would focus on quality and not on quantity. Blog commenting is getting useless and harmful to your website due to spam.... and less percentage of comment approval.... focus on article marketing and forum signatures in high pr forums instead..

I own both comment demon and scrapebox. I haven't fire up comment demon in months because scrapebox does so much more. I thought it would have been a nice one two punch, but the way you have to go about finding open blogs in comment demon is more tedious.

I honestly can't believe people are still looking to blog comment spam as a way to build links/traffic to their site. If you're going to do it, at least do it right by engaging in conversation at a blog.

Scrapebox is the WAY to go. You can weed out all the crap and post to only good high PR blogs if you want. It is pretty much the swiss army knife of link building

Well there are some blog posts that don't allow comments who had live link just ti prevent their site from being spam. But just try to comment blogsites that is related to your site and make it nice and relevance as possible.

Blog commenting is the best way to building backlinks for the website as you have to do the comments on the blog posts and also make sure that all the blogs are dofollow so it gives you the better benefits.

I highly suggest that you stop using automated tools in blog commenting. Your site will just look bad to the community as well as to search engines. Do it manually and engage personally with your prospected sites/blogs. It will take you in more scalable link opportunity from them. It takes time, but it's definitely worth it.

One should try to comment on such blogs that gives dofollow link which is obviously useful for a site. But ofcourse most of the blog don't give dofollow, so it's not always good to comment on such blog as far the ranking of a site is concerned but ya its would obviously affects the traffic of that site. But having said would also like to say that one should not spam the blog cz it's not a good technique, should try to make impact when ones comments on the blog.

However manual submission is better, but the problem is not it only. Many webmasters delete comments as there are hundreds of comments for each post and they don't have time to select good ones so they delete all of them.
