Yahoo Does Not Index Blogspot blogs??

I have about 30 blogspot blogs. Some are new and some are already 9 month old.

Since my colleague was taking care of the sites, I did not pay much attention to these blogs. However, last night I found that nearly half of the blogs, includeing some 9-month old one, are not indexed on Yahoo. They are being indexed quite well on Google.

Yahoo search is more popular in my place so I think it is more important to be indexed on Yahoo. My colleague constantly updates these blogs with original contents and she also constantly builds backlinks (though quite slowly) to these blogs.

I don't see anything that can violate the search engine rules. Now, I am thinking of:

1. The templates chosen affect Yahoo indexing process even for the 9-month-old blogs (We only use built-in templates on blogger.com)

2. Adsense (not sure about this issue, but we have other sites which are using the same adsense account and they are indexed and raking well both on G and Y)

I wonder if other here also have such problems?

I just searched Yahoo! for one of my blogspot blogs and it is indexed. I think you should add your blogs to Yahoo! Site Explorer

Even then, one has to be a bit curious...why so much concern about Yahoo anyways? They are only like 10 percent of the size of Google.

And where in the world are you that Yahoo is more commonly searched than Google? 1997?

Well, I can only say that I am not in US. And in my place most people use Yahoo. It may seem strange to some people but that is the truth.

I have sites which rank equally well on Yahoo and Google. And there is a site which is ranked on Google a lot better than Yahoo. Yet, the traffic from yahoo is a lot more than Google.

Yes, some of my blogspot blogs really rank well on both Google and Yahoo. But about half of all the blogs are not indexed on Yahoo.

I have already added the blogs to Yahoo site explorer. Hope this will help...

I agree with cataclysm. Why bother with Yahoo? I mean they are good but we are talking about publicity here. 80% of world traffic came from the Big G. And the remaining 20 are shared by other search engines.

Yes, from my experience, it is true for English sites. But yahoo is the King for sites with the local language in my place.

I agree Yahoo! is popular in some non-English countries.
I was reading an article about Vietnam media, where it says that Yahoo! is very popular in Vietnam. They were arguing why Yahoo! is not providing better content even though millions of Vietnamese use its site. I was surprised at the popularity of Yahoo there.

What I observe is that Yahoo put a lot of money on advertising in my place. Yahoo does not provide really good contents, in terms of serach results. However, Y provides a lot of other services which is not really related to search results. At least in my place, some celebrities use these services. It seems to me that Yahoo is paying them to use the services.

First off, add your site to yahoo site explorer, like the other cats have told you. It will get indexed. Blogger blogs rank all the time on yahoo and there's absolutely no bias.

Secondly, you guys telling him not to bother with yahoo, umm, seriously? If this is sincere advice then I think I have really just heard it all from some posters here at warrior. What absolute, unadulterated nonsense. I regularly get an average of close to 900 visits per day to 8 of my sites via yahoo, and slightly less than that number from Bing. You guys can't really be that google-afied.

Op, anybody who believes extra traffic and potential customers isn't worth the bother is a) not helping you at all, and b) needs to have their head read. Just sayin'.

If you need additional traffic/visibility to your blogs then goto others Secondary Search Engines like Yahoo, Bing etc. I never take Yahoo, Bing etc into consideration as Google is the ONLY KING. As your blogs are there in Google, it is more than enough and don't consider others.

      I can't believe I just read this.

Mate, I'd normally qualify a reply like yours by saying "no offense", but I really can't be bothered considering what you've just discussed. Hopefully readers have enough sense to recognize your post as pretty much the worst search engine strategy since the proliferation of the internet.

Keep handing out this kind of advice and it will only serve 2 purposes: 1. it will make you look rather silly and misinformed, and 2. it will potentially hurt newbs who are here at warrior genuinely seeking help.
