Indexed URL VS Indexed Link??

Can I get a clarification on something? I have several articles on Scribd as part of a backlinking strategy for my main site. Some of the article urls show as indexed (in Scrapebox) and some show as not indexed.

I know of several ways to get a url indexed. But does that necessarily mean that all the links on that page are getting indexed as well?

Thanks.

No, it doesn't mean they are getting indexed as well . . . But most people believe that Google SHOULD crawl these links as well, which will HELP them get indexed BUT does not necessarily mean that Google WILL index them . . .

Google is finicky, it will choose to not index url's for several reasons . . . Some even kinda odd ones.

But, in a perfect world, these links would get crawled and indexed the same time as the page they are on . . . and most will.

    Hope this helps

      Thanks for the info Guys!

Waddle - Here's one of the urls on Scribd I'm talking about: Home Recording-Pro Quality Audio Even If You're Not Rich

I posted that article with 2 links in it (yes, the ones I want to get indexed). The URL itself isn't a pdf, but I don't know how Scribd converts the article after I upload it (as a Word file).

Anyway, thanks again for your quick reply!

      Ken

But there are plenty of other places on scribd you can get links if you look hard enough.
Waddle, How do you view the page with javascript turned off? I tried unchecking the "enable javascript" box in Firefox's Tools/Options. But when I did that the article on the page was completely blank. Did I do it right? Ken

The problem with scribed is that the links are "NoDoFollow" so that's the issue. The spiders aren't biting.

      NoDoFollow? you mean re=nofollow?

even still google does follow them - but what they do with them is the unknown.

You can check google's cached version of a page by searching for
      cache:http://www.scribd.com/your-page-url-goes-here

You will see that the cached versions of article pages don't have links in the articles.

If you're cranking out articles of that length, try shortening them a bit and doing article marketing instead. You will get more backlink bang for your buck if you submit articles to every article dir on the planet, plus make squidoo lenses, hubpages etc.
Thanks Waddle! I am doing all the other stuff you mentioned as well. Now I just have to get focused more I guess.

If your indexed in Google just type "site:yourdomain.com" and view the cache Google has saved of your site:
