After being in a confused state for a very long time i have now finalized that i will start building sites as HTML static sites rather than database based soft like wordpress etc.

Recently i have started building my websites as statis HTML pages rather than the blog.

Here are some of reasons on why i am loving it:

1. Design It is customizable. The design,. fonts, etc is all HIGHLY customizable. It helps me in engaging the user more as compared to blog. I try to make the design more relevant to the users. It also helps in getting good impression.

2. Easier to create links: thanks to the website building tool am using (dreamweaver) i can quickly create inter links to pages. This helps in reducing bounce rate.

3. Higher CTR because the general audience understand how ads are placed on blogs. It is not same on static websites. For example i create sites with two wide columns and one with

4. Easier to manage: i dont have to worry about the database back ups and all that. It is simple HTML i have taken the copy easily it saves my time.

Some cons of this method
- lack of RSS feed (i think it can be overcomed by creating RSS feed by free tools available)

why i ignore blog
Yes i know i know.. that i can customize blog as well

when will i use a blog?
I think blog should be used as a blog and not like a informational website or guide. A blog can be a good way to put latest news or somthing but not encyclopedic information.

You also might consider investing some of your time in checking out static HTML websites

I totally agree. Wordpress has it's place but for my the majority of my sites I prefer to use static html sites.

I've not tried making static html sites but I can do quite okay with wordpress. I can never remember html, and every time I want to create even a hyperlink, I still need to look it up. Just can't seem to get html into my head.

I think I'd find that the learning curve would be very steep, and would take a long time. I'd probably then have to keep looking up bits and pieces. For me, my time could be better spent doing something that generates income, using a site building method I'm already familiar with.

Haven't done a conclusive study but a few of my Wordpress sites seem to rank easily on Google. As for the majority which are all HTML static sites, it seems to require more SEO work.

I'd have to just about totally disagree with most of your points

I used to use Dreamweaver all the time but find myself now thowing wordpress sites up left, right and center. In fact I struggle to navigate around Dreamweaver because it's been so long since I used it for anything.

I can easily create a wordpress design a lot faster than I can using dreamweaver, granted I am using Artisteer but I can still put up a great looking site in under 15 minutes and highly customize everything that I want to simply by changing the css.

With all the plugins now a day it's as easy as a couple of clicks to add links to other pages, no coding needed.

I'd disagree with this entirely, I don't think for one minute that the "general audience" understands how ads are placed on blogs and I think you can get an effective CTR on a blog without any problem.

It takes me all of two minutes to back up an entire wordpress sites, database and all so I really can't think it getting much easier than that.

I guess in the end it just comes down to a matter of preference and I know with wordpress I can go from an idea to a fully functional SEO'd site in under an hour, that's my preference.

Why would you think an html page must be static?
Wordpress will use some html, even if it's created on the fly.
Nothing you says your html page must be static. I use php
mostly, a little mysql on some sites that need a database,
but the code is virtually all html with it integrated.

I think you may mean "hand coding" is better than "content management."

      I use both.

I have heard that you can you can use wordpress to create "static" sites.

Static HTML pages are not so good for SEO. You need to have dynamic pages.

Doesn't have to be so. I am using Xsitepro and the indexing and ranking comes in a little late. But it actually depends on your own onpage and offpage seo.

You can update your WP site wherever in the world without the use of a software. You need the software to update your html site.

I have heard that Dreamweaver creates some unecessary code that makes the site loads slow. You should try XSitePro
