I just created some websites i need to promote. My site hasn't been getting traffic. Please what do i do to increase my ranking/ how do i start building backlinks?

  • You can start by the obvious ones:

    Social Marketing - create one account for your site at every major social network, place your link in profile and promote all the site URL's in these networks.

    Create a Youtube channel, place your link in profile and promote other site URL's in different videos.

    You can also do a search inside the forums for others techniques, but i'd start by the basics, really.

    First go to Pingler and ping your url if you're not indexed yet.

    Then ........

    Write articles and submit them to article directories

    Submit your site to website directories,,,,,,,yes this still works

    Comment on blogs that allow keywords in the name field, even those that don't as long as they have authority

    Create some web 2.0 sites and link them to your site

    Start a Youtube account and link from there (as mentioned above)

    Buy some profile links

    The list goes on and on.........or just hire me to seo your site

      1) I have bough some backlinks ( a small package 25K) from someone, should I then index them myself? Does Backlink Energizer do this?
      2) What's the best tool for searching for how many backlinks I have to my site?
      3) Should I be able to see my backlinks straight away, or wait a few days?

  • In addition to what has been said in many of the previous posts, you should gather all the backlinks together and convert them to rss feeds. Then submit to rss directories for rapid indexing.

    • In order to get quality backlinks read this tips:
      • Do not use the same exact content. Don't use the exact same article that you're submitting to article directories in an article that you've already used on your own site. This may be considered "duplicate content" by the search engines. Instead, re-write the article using a different point of view so that you have something unique in both locations.
      • Submit every unique version of your article to different article directories. For instance, submit one to EzineArticles.com, another version to GoArticles.com, another version to ArticlesBase.com and so forth.

      • Niche it out. Don't limit yourself to just the "basic" online article directories such as EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com. Seek out an article site that caters specifically to your niche topic. To do this, just go to Google and type in "your topic" + "submit articles" or "your topic" + "looking for writers" or any variation of those terms.
      • Make your articles pull double-duty. Once you have articles written that you've either placed on your own site or that you've submitted to article directories, you don't have to stop there! Take those same articles, organize them, and create an e-book out of them that you give away on your own website. You can also submit your free ebook to places such as free-ebooks.net and getfreeebooks.com. Remember, within the ebooks themselves you can place links to affiliate products that you recommend.

    • If Your site is new, You want Google to See it as quickly as possible so You should get links from high authority places like Web Directories.

      Blog comments is a little hard for Google to find your site IMHO.

      The best would be to get links is from REALLY Established directories like Yahoo Site directory, Joe Ant, Goguides.org, Gimpsy, Best of the web. (But sadly, these directories are paid directories.)

      For free Web directories, there is DMOZ, and Best of the web blogs.

      You can also easily search in Google for more Web directories by typing in,

      "Internet marketing" Directory
      "Internet marketing" submit your site
      "Internet marketing" add url

      Of course replace "Internet marketing" with your keyword for example, "Golf" or "Dog" or "Hollywood" etc.

      Remember, Links from Web Directories always catches Google's attention very easily.

  • Hi, As your website is new you need to adopt some basic seo strategies to promote your site or to give site a better accessibility just follow the list of strategies given bellow
    1). Submit your website to 150 to 200 Directories with high page rank.
    2). Share the link of your latest posts to all the social networking sites such as Facebook,Digg,Twitter and orkut etc..
    3). Do social bookmarking for your post..
    4). submit some quality articles to Ezinearticles, article-base and Article dashboard by leaving your sites link in the authors resource box...
    5). Write some testimonials in few websites of your kind.
    6). Approach/search guest posting blogs and give 1 or 2 quality articles to it by placing your sites link in it. Then your site will be expected to go up..
  • Building backlinks to your website is boring to do and it takes time. Try to outsource this can help grow your website traffic. But then again if you dont have the funds to do that then try:
    article marketing
    Blog Commenting
    social Bookmark
    try using some backlink sites
    Like linvana for your blog commenting
    and try a software called bookmark demon for your social bookmarking task
    this are some things I use to grow my traffic but its up to you.

  • Do keyword optimization. This is important in determining which keywords related to your niche will convert best and can easily be found by your end-users
  • I just wanna say BIG thanks for all these tips. I personally do the most things mentioned above.

    I also think it's a good idea to order a backlink package from a backlinking service, but not at the start og the backlink building. Just build and index 50-70 backlinks and when your site is about 2-3 month old - buy a package of energized backlinks. You can find several good offers here at the forum.
