I have several sites on the first page of Google
and I'm not getting the traffic expected.

There is information on the web that tells the% of clicks you get a site depending on the position on the first page of Google:
With some variations are as follows:
Pos 1: CTR 53%
Pos 2: 13%
Pos 3: 10%
Pos 4: 4%
Pos 5: 5%
Pos 6: 3%
Pos 7: 0%
Pos 8: 3%
Post 9: 1%
Pos 10: 2%

Using Google Analytics to determine the traffic of my web pages and comparing it with traffic per month as Google Adwords tool, there is a large discrepancy, which makes me wonder, where is the truth?

Site A
Position: 1
Keyword 1:590 / month
Site Traffic A: 2/month

Site B
Keyword 1 = 12.100 / month
Position # 2
Keyword 2 = 1,000 / month
Position # 3
Site Traffic B: 6/month

Site C
Position # 3
Keyword 1:2,900 / month
Site Traffic C: 271/month.

The site C is about the calculations
previously exposed.

You have an opinion on this?

The google adwords tool is not accurate (not of them are) but are you looking at broad match or exact when you look up those keywords? If you are not checking the "exact" button then go ahead and check it and see the difference, you might find it will align more with the results you are getting.

Of course, they only true way to tell what the traffic might be for a keyword is to setup and adwords campaign and see how many impressions you get, only then will you know the true searches.

I was about to point to the same thing,

Few years back when i started my first site had this exact same problem, I got excited by the amount of searches my keyword had and after i got to the first spot i got no traffic ... so i learned the broad/exact thing the hard way

Always check the search volume in exact match and don't let anyone tell you anything else.

Thanks, lee and Hamza for their answers.
Really, the exact match is much lower
    than expected it :-(

    Site A
    Position: 1
    Keyword 1:590 / month
    [Keyword 1]:22
    Site Traffic A: 2/month

    Site B
    Keyword 1 = 12.100 / month
    [Keyword 1]=73
    Position # 2

    Keyword 2 = 1,000 / month
    [Keyword 1]=36
    Position # 3
    Site Traffic B: 6/month

    Site C
    Position # 3
    Keyword 1:2,900 / month
    [Keyword 1]=1900
    Site Traffic C: 271/month.

The numbers are also influenced by the title and description of the web page in the results, as well as the relevancy of the surrounding listings.

Are you using broad match, or exact match when doing your keyword research?

    BIIIIGGG difference.

Try using EXACT MATCH and see what the search traffic says then.

Here's an example, the difference between broad match and exact match for the term, random stupid

random stupid (broad match) 2900 searches per month

random stupid (exact match) 22 searches per month

    Yep -
This is all about broad and exact!
However - over time as you add pages and posts (and back-link those) you will pick up visitors from all the closely related search terms/keywords and eventually your site will be getting the "broad" results

I think it is the title and description that effects CTR.

I really would not get to hung up on your CTR figures. Yes, they are important, but your conversion rates are a much more relevant figure to follow.

Thanks to Lee, Hamza, Adam Roy, Rob Anderson, for calling my attention to something that I did not know: the exact match.

I was guided by the broad match, as it’s recommended by many gurus. Now, I wonder, why is not taught this information in the search for niches.

If I may add, have you confirmed your Search Engine Ranking through an anonymous proxy? Try that too, just to really make sure you are where you think you are.

that's my mistake too and i try to rank for a really competitive keyword with over 900k result with quote and broad match upto 1millions result but when i rank number two in google, only got 20 search per month for that keyword and when asking to professional guru, they suggest to use exact match is the best,

Yah, after file it up in google adword with exact match, only 220 search per month for the keyword that i try to rank for months,
