How long does it take for Google Places to update my local business listing?

Does it usually take weeks or a few days? There is low competition for my chosen keywords, but my listing changes are not being updated. I've changed a little in the title of the business, and I also changed some pics, is this making the updating process slow? How long did it take for your listings to be updated?
Would appreciate any advice, thanks.

If you claimed the business and verified it by phone/snailmail, it is instantaneous.

It usually takes a few days up to a month or so. Was this the first time you've edited it or did you just recently claim the listing?

      You sure?
I have over twenty places right now and editing any one of them right now will change search results instantly.
I don't see any reason for why there would be a delay, if the account is verified.

Yes, I am sure. I've had clients whose listings have taken up to a week or so to see the changes and others that do change instantly.

You're right, apparently it can take up to six weeks, according to the Google Webmaster Help Groups.
How strange. The changes always took minutes for me.

Yup! Just depends, I've also noticed the more frequently the edits occur the more the listing takes to update and also can occassionally drop. This may just be random occurrance, but it is definitely something I have noted.

Yeah I notice that bits of the change appear instead of all the new information all at once. For example, changed phone and address and added some pics and changed some description.

    After a week, pics appeared...
After 2 weeks the description updated...

Still waiting on address and phone number though...

Google has been indicating it is making changes to speed up the local updating process. I am afraid I'm not aware of any details.

It can take up until a couple of weeks indeed.
