Seeking advice about domain names vs keywords

Hello everyone, I'm a 22 year old student from Belgium, new here on the forum as well as to IM in general. For the past days i've been working hard after study time to find suitable keywords and available domain names to go with them. I've collected about 20 of them and planning to initially use 5 of them to start 5 (micro)niche blogs. All are for physical products through Linkshare affiliates.

What i'm looking for is:

*advice in this thread, specifically about domain names vs keywords. How important is it that these exacly match? If the exact match .com is not available, what about .net/.org, hyphens, singular/plural, adding short words as buy, now,...? Also about site design: in general, would u advice using 1 site/blog per product, or using a cluster/group of very similar products?

*A reputable member (ofcourse more than 1 would be even better) with experience, that would be willing to pick a top 10 or top 5 out of my 20 domain names with a very brief motivation of his choice, in PM. Ofcourse i expect him to be discrete and not buy any of these himself

      Exact match domains aren't the magic bullet, it helps, but it won't create magic with the SERPs

      Although people will argue that the TLD doesn't matter IMO it does. Here's how I'd go:

      .com

      if taken

      net or org

      if taken

      use hyphens (single not double)

      if taken

      use a suffix (keywordstore.com)

      if taken use

      use prefix (bestkeyword.com)

      And as for singular or plural? It depends on which one you're targeting.

        Alan - nice priority list. I've never written my own down, but I think my own is pretty close to yours.

    Exact match .com would obviously be best. If not, go for .net or .org. I've also had some success with .info. Wouldn't do any others though. Then add hyphens, then add Google 'stop words' such as the,a,best,go etc. You are doing great by going after physical products. I didn't learn that simple concept until 6 months after I started IM. My rule of thumb is to target 1 keyword phrase per page. So maybe do 1 product per site and 1 keyword per each page of that site. Keeping it simple and focused will be better for SEO.

      Thanks for the advice so far! (keep it coming if u have more/different views). Somehow physical products seemed more attractive to me. Especially the Linkshare affiliates offers a huge variety and quality compared to the Clickbank ones imo. Anyone have experience with Linkshare? Why do you think Clickbank is so much more popular? Higher commisions for one, but is that really the main reason? It just seems so much more difficult to promote yet another e-book about marketing/getting rich as opposed to a physical product people actually need and you genuinly are able to promote and talk about because you're standing behind it 100% yourself.
