hey guys, i want to know how you do your backlinking efforts to rank an EZA article to the first page of google for its keywords.

sorry for the misunderstanding but this is for article marketing purposes and not for ranking the site in the resource box.

thanks in advance,
Ross

I started backlinking a batch of 5 EZA articles last month using PR4 and up profile links and 4 of them are on the first page including a number 1 spot. All my article titles include the keywords I'm targeting.

I have a few tips that are worth mentioning.

    * articles need to optimzed with the keyword you are targeting. The main keyword should be in the title as well as throughout the article. I check Google keyword tool to be sure that people are searching for what I am planning to write about. You could also go to google.com to search and see how people are stating the topic and then go back and search through the Google keyword tool.

    * Your keywords should be added around 2.5 - 4% as long as it does not interfere with the quality of the article.

    * Be sure to optimize the keyword box. It will help the search engines and people find you which will help your article move up in rankings.

    Hope this is helpful !

      LOL!!! Man this is rich!

Never build backlinks to EZA. What are you trying to do, help EZA?
It will be too little, too late.

Build backlinks to your own sites, people, let ezinearticles do it's job
      as it was intended.

      Illogical: Building backlinks to backlinks.

I agree. Unless you have a new site are trying to rank for a very competitive term; even then I would argue those links are better served pointing to your own site.

Sorry for the misunderstanding but this is for article marketing purposes and not for backlinking purposes to the main site. the purpose to rank the EZA article is to get more traffic.

I know what you're saying and but check out ANY article on the ezinearticles domain (not the homepage) and you won't find any individual article that has any backlinks (not in Yahoo explorer anyway), and if it's not showing up how can it help except if THAT article is sending the traffic.

There WERE reasons to backlink to it before, but I can't think of any reason to try backlinking to your article now.

What in the world is article marketing? For the fun of writing? Well, that's
a different story, I suppose. Are you wanting to be a famous author and get
published, thinking that people will find your articles and hire you?

That's a whole different spin than I ever thought of.

Maybe you can expand on what "for article marketing purposes" actually means.

I see no reason to market an article on EZA and not be promoting a website.

its a trusted traffic method. Some well-respected WF members earn 4-5 digit earnings per month with it. you should do a search on the forums for article marketing. its informative. there's a resource box after each article which is where you should be putting your link where the reader clicks.

If they built up their own businesses, instead of EZA's, they might earn 5-6 digit earnings per month instead.

It makes sense to get traffic from article directories, not to send traffic you're generating (with a backlinking campaign) to them.

I'm a full-time article marketer, submitting daily to EZA, and I wouldn't dream of doing this.

I want to build up my websites and my business, not EZA's business and EZA's website.

And I wouldn't want to end up with article directories permanently outranking my own site for my own keywords, either - what a handicap that would be.

This issue relates to the "descending ceiling".

If you build backlinks to your EZA articles, you can get some additional fast traffic, fast clicks and fast sales out of it, it's true. (Clearly there has to be some sort of short-term "advantage", otherwise people wouldn't fall into this trap. And it really is a trap). So, yes: it can get you moving upwards at a slightly faster speed than you would by not doing that. The catch is that for every inch you're moving upwards, the ceiling is silently descending three inches, and in the long run you're imposing an insuperable future limit on your business by doing it.

oh. makes sense now. I believe I got the idea from one of the many article marketing ebooks and forums i read of how a single article can generate thousands of views and corresponding traffic to your site because of ranking it. from one of the author's words, it said something like "it is better to get an article with 150,000 views than a hundred articles that make far less in total."

is it true you could get EZA articles to rank without even backlinking to them, Alexa? BTW, the backlinking methods I used were social bookmarking and form profiles.

                      Thanks again,

I know how you feel, imagine spending hours and hours building your backlinks for years only to have them disappear overnight. The changes happened only about 2 months ago. Before you could easily get a PR 2 or 3 link by getting on in the "Most Viewed" section (wasn't that hard in some non-competitive categories) and using the resource box as a redirect link made backlinking a bit easier, but you can't do that anymore

It's not worth the trouble any more.

Can you find ANY article there or at goarticles that has a backlink?

Get your EZA author RSS feed URL and submit it to various RSS directories. You can increase you EZA traffic as well as backlinks to your articles.

You write a 300 word article with an about the author blurb at the bottom slapped with your link then you submit it to hundreds of article directories. It worked like a charm then because Google won't mind duplicate articles – but today, Google doesn't give that much weight to links from duplicate articles.

Be sure that your article should be keyword dense 2-3% including title. Try to bookmark your article on social bookmarking sites. If u can make a Press Release. It will really gonna boost your rank. Good luck !!
