Hey People,

My question -

Is using automated tools like SeNuke , Sick Submitter etc to create profiles automatically considered blackhat as per the site ?
I am not talking about google rules but site rules

Like here -
Naruto Forums - Forum Rules [Nothing regarding automatic creations is written in the rules(Usually Default rules dont have that in VB)]

So what is your take on such creation of profiles on Vbulletin sites. Let me know.

Thanks
NiyazK

  • Re: Automated tools (IMO)

    Black-Hat:
"Yes", using those tools to Create Profiles is clearly Black Hat, IMO.

    Grey-Hat:
Using something like iMacros for Firefox to help you get "more done/day" could be considered honest, if you are adding useful posts, and not spamming all those forums.

    White-Hat:
If used honestly, iMacros and / or AHK are great tools to help you become a computer power-user.

    Have Fun
  • Why do you think its blackhat.. we dont break any rules of the site

    • It is possible (for example) to be extremely deceptive without actually lying. If the profiles are for SEO links, then you become just another search engine spammer.
      • Isn't is obvious the Net already has too much Spam?

      I'll disagree w/ you too. :p
Macros, AHK, etc. are legit "power tools" if used honestly.
For some examples search for autohotkey on the LifeHacker website, or check the autohotkey forums.

  • I think using practically any automatic program qualifies as Blackhat

    • Roboform is not blackhat and I am using it on submitting articles faster than normal...
  • Happy New Year, you smartalex
  • Automatic creation of profiles can not be considered as blackhat....creating all those profiles just to have your links and then forget those is blackhat.
  • It depends on who is going to define blackhat.

I personally define it as anything you do to try to deceive the search engines in order to raise your rank that adds no value to the internet as a whole.
  • It really depends on the types of linking you are doing. If the product or service you are engaging is relative to those forum conversations, then I say it's somewhat acceptable. There are many people out there (And they are very good SEO firms) that drop a ton of "spammish" quality content in areas they really aren't full engaged in. So everyone does their fare share of spamming. However overall, if at least your link are relative then it's not too awful.
  • So whats the conclusion finally ? Black Hat ?

    • Building links automatically, with the sole purpose of building links for better rankings, is a form of search engine manipulation and therefore not white hat. But that goes up for many link building techniques and even it´s not white hat, if done properly, you may get away with it.

    • The conclusion is that black hat is a subjective term and there are no incorrect answers when defining it, as it's open to interpretation.

Personally, I don't consider profile links to be black hat, but that's just me.
  • Can anyone tell what actually is natural link building and how do you achieve it

    • jacked has one great answer here:

Some successful examples of amazing White-hat linking and buzz-building:

      • One Red Paperclip
      • User-created content sites (i.e. Wikipedia)
      • Open-Source projects/communities
      • Howard Dean 2004: Before the meltdown he went from little-known to front-runner.
      • Justin B's mom posting his videos on YouTube starting over 4 years ago
      • Firefox Browser!!!
      ^^^
    • Natural link building is Letting the site naturally get backlinks - Not doing any link building intentionally (But not possible for our websites)
For example: Websites like facebook, amazon rank very high but they do no link building. They have natural links all over the Internet.

But it's not possible for our websites - We have to build links anyway - However, it's not natural as we are trying to manipulate SERP!
  • thats a funny answer

    • Thanks NiyazK,
Humor mixed with the answer to your question:
When jacked mentioned having amazing content so that others would like to visit your site just for that, I tried to think of some popular examples.
  • pretty right said faceblogger.. There is not way we could build natural backlinks!
