Does Google Know How Much Traffic Your Site Gets

Is there reason to believe that Google's knows how much traffic your site gets? Does this have an effect on your pagerank?

Assuming the answer to both questions are yes, if all of my traffic comes from adwords (or other PPC advertising) will this traffic still help my page rank?

Google does not know how much traffic your site gets unless you have Google Analytics installed on your site.

Additionally, Page Rank has nothing to do with traffic.

But "will it help my page rank" (what the OP asked) is not the same as "will it help my PageRank"

      Both right answers.

If you do not have Google Analytics installed, Google only knows how much traffic they send you.

PageRank is about link popularity, which is calculated based on how many links from third-party websites your site has, and the PageRank value of those pages that link to your site.

    I was wondering that too...

It makes sense that G would want to factor bounce rate, at least, to place a site, but only if it had data for every site, or some model to estimate.

If it doesn't use GA for such purposes, it would seem they'd want us to have that peace of mind... or no?
