Hey Warriors,

Anyone have experience with applying for and using the Adsense API for revenue sharing?

What are the requirements etc?

  • You have to have a site where users generate content.

If your site qualifies, I would let users keep 100% of the revenue, which google
recommends, and make money off of adsense referrals.

You must already have an adsense account.
Come up with a plan and email the details to: adsenseapi-support@google.com
Register as a developer: Google AdSense API Application

  • Ok, 100,000 page views.. lol! That's going to take some time to accomplish at which point there would probably be better ways to monetize.

I believe there are plugins to rotate Adsense ads for Wordpress based on which user wrote the post, yes?

Probably a better way to start out, but that would be missing out on those writers who don't have an Adsense account.

    • Thing is, the point is for users to create content for you!
So, allowing them to edit and place their own adsense codes
is the way to go. You share no revenue, but you pump up
content and can monetize other ways. I don't think you have
to apply for the api if you do this, since you are not really
revenue sharing. I may be wrong, but since normal adsense usrers
can put different ids on pages, I see no problem.
