Adding a new post vs. adding new content to an existing post?

I have 1 site in particular where I've been adding new content daily as a new page to the site each time I post (average about 700 words each new post), and it's starting to get pretty messy. A lot of these posts could be condensed down into fewer pages to make the site more organized, but I'm wondering if my site would receive the same SEO benefits if I just added new content to an existing page/post as opposed to creating a new page each time.

Any advice appreciated, thanks!

I was in a similar situation a year ago and chose to just leave the content up there. But everything was in wordpress so it was pretty easy to just ignore it.

I suppose if there are no links and no visitors to a particular page you could dump it, but why not re-purpose it to another site or article publishing site?

Are you using static html pages? or a dynamic setup like wordpress? This can make a difference.

Are you trying to just hit an all time SEO aspect or are you trying to keep your site "human readable"?

A static page that is too long will not be good for people to read, and will also not be great for SEO. The reason is the ratio percentage of keywords to content.

All content created s an impact on your seo practices. When compared to your keyword (seo) factors, you can either have too little keywords, just right, or too many keywords.

Two few will not help with your seo ranking and too many will likely get you blacklisted in google for keyword spamming.

In general, it is best to have your site categorized. By this I mean you should have a main topic, sub-categories, second sub categories (if needed), and then content.

This is what makes blogs so nice. When they are setup properly using categories, you gain the benefit of good seo and proper linking structures.

If your "pages" are becoming too unruly, then it is likely time to seperate your site into sections that become easier to manage.
