Has Google Overdosed On it's Own Caffine..?

Whats going on with Google nowadays? I thought it was just me then I realised that this has been quite common for some people since May, but for me it was in late october.

I had managed with a great deal of learning and WSO's to get some decent first, second and third place rankings for some of my sites. Since late October my sites have been in the top 3 for a few days then page 9, 15 or whatever for weeks at a time, then they return to the top 3 for a few days then they disappear again.

Does anybody have any answers as to what is going on and how long this is supposed to last?

seen this article from another thread in this forum and I thought that I would share it!

I've experienced that a little, but don't know what the heck is going on with their algorithm.

      What if...

One way to keep people happy and combat SEO is to spread the wealth. (...keeping everyone confused.) It's like spinning a wheel and dropping a ball, where she stops is anyone's call. What I mean to say is, when your site isn't on top - have you noticed the sites that are? Obviously, you're all competing for similar keywords. By rotating sites in this manner, no site stays dominant... with the exception dominant/trusted sites. Their results remain fairly consistent. The rest of us ride the wheel. This algorithm allows Google to maintain their dominance... It's what Google does. Eventually, you may settle into a reasonably permanent position.

Google is sharing position to make SEO more obsolete and maintain their dominance over SEO hacks that figure them out. G doesn't want you to FIGURE them out. Newer sites may see this far more often than older sites because they haven't been around long enough, probably got some SEO company to position them (tell-tale signs...), and haven't proved themselves. (Other factors apply...who knows all of them?) Another factor is the keywords you compete for... Such keywords as, SEO (related), IM (related) and other highly competitive keyword areas may be affected more than less popular keywords areas. Things like that. Better known as the Google Waltz. I just coined that term. Similar to the Google Dance but with more precise moves.

      Anyway, just an observation.

Yeah it makes sense what you are saying and kind of eases the frustration a little. The google waltz has you coined it doesn't help keeping a roof over your though

What age does a domain fall out of the young bracket and get a little more G -trust..?

You're in the dance... Just keep working your site and don't stress. The dance goes on until Google has made a point and determined results. When that's done your site will settle for a while. This will start again when too many have shown they understand the algo. Don't contribute to it by making too many changes in meta data areas. (...for every change on your site - a change in results will happen)

Years, it a little more than just years - Google wants to trust. ...how long before you trust a stranger? Don't try too hard. Try to be more natural... Gain Google's trust. ...or stop playing the game and expand.

Interesting article. The spammers seem to come out with more and more advanced stuff. I'm sure Google will find a fix, but I'm wondering what it will do to us internet marketers. Maybe we will find better strategies to get ranked.

Google is under no obligation to keep anybody happy, except its
paying adwords customers and organic searchers. That's what's
got them $20+ billion in the bank. It's what's kept MS from making
one thin dime with Bing and their other lame online endeavors.

You need to start concentrating on getting real, targeted visitors
    on your own.

Google is constantly cleaning house. You can either choose to be swept
away, and blame the big bad google, or get off the schneid and start working
to make your sites better for people, not search engines.

Google is overdosing alright. On profits. On innovation. On keeping it's
competitors at bay. On bringing new programs to life. On buying companies
that can contribute to their online dominance. It's called business savvy.

I am not gonna complain one bit what your saying is right and I suppose one thing that pi££ed me off the most is thats when I realise that it aint all about SEO and targeting the big G is when my site has gone.

I think if you are doing SEO for yourself you can fall into the trap of neglecting your content and kind of forgeting about the main reason your doing SEO in the first place for your customers.

They are exhibiting the same business savvy as Standard Oil, AT&T and Microsoft did.

The google algorithm is constantly changing, and newly ranked sites move up and down for no reason. It's just part of the internet marketing game.

I would say that google has become even more of a super computer, and they have run so many possible strategies that trying to beat it is nearly impossible now. You have to actually produce a site that people love. You can't just get a bunch of junky links and think that will do it. If links are easily obtained, google knows that and won't score them as high.
