Hey fellow Warriors

I wanted to share something that I feel gets overlooked month to month when we are whizzing away trying to increase our rankings or page rank or number of links all for the golden dust that we expect to get back from search engines in terms of traffic.

Don't get me wrong SEO traffic rocks but try not to forget the big picture! There is a very good reason as to why Matt Cutts (googles head of web spam - SEO big dude) says on behalf of big G that in order for google to love you, you should have relevant keyword rich natural links.

Links are the backbone, spine, base or whatever you want to call it, of the entire internet and when you set or start your link building campaigns you should really do so with a bigger picture in mind than just search engines. Links bring in traffic on their own to, in fact unless your site has been advertised via media/social or any kind of ads, links are the be all and end all of organic internet traffic.

Not a SEO expert, its a?
Everything falls under this whether it be social bookmarking, article marketing, blog comments, hub pages, squidles (squidoo lenses - abbreviated ) and even the links that the search engine places within its results that point back to your site pages. Getting indexed is another way of saying hey google put my links in your search results so people can click on them and come to my site.

For your own success try not to focus on being a SEO expert although that term is held in high regard and respected. Instead be a Link Strategist, broaden your approach to the level of search engines being a bonus to your link building strategies.

You just been sandboxed
If google one find sandy day decides to turn your site towards the sandbox, but you had 200 pages nicely indexed meaning you have just lost yourself 200 links. But if you had 200 other links in other places all bringing in traffic and google decided to switch you off you wouldn't lose those other traffic juice links would you? They would still be there providing you with traffic but the question does prevail about Link Strategy and targeted traffic that actually converts from a link click to a sale.

Lets talk conversions

This is one topic you should be worried about because if your putting in all the work for Link strategy then why aren't you demanding conversions from your work, even if its well placed adsense ads that convert with a good amount of clicks. I would be worried if you're doing all that work but then lazying off when it comes to time to think of how to improve your conversions. Boring as it may sound conversions are what ultimately leverage success that has already or is currently being accrued.

The one benefit that search engines have is that the traffic that they provide searching for specific thing visitors. As you know as well as I do this traffic converts well. But then the age internet marketing argument comes into play about how well your sales copy or content or call to action are converting. These are factors that big G also directs your attention to in terms of site, navigation and content layout adjustments.

What I would like you to think about for this is the sig links in the Warrior forum now you may not be searching for that exactly but it could quite possibly related to what your are searching for, so then you click the link and either purchase or sign up what the Warrior has to offer. I am sure you have a read about warriors who have made a ton of cash just from their warrior sig links. This directly means that nothing else apart from their copy/content + their service / product offering and lastly the actual sig link itself caused those conversions/sales to happen.

So in the right environment Links have most definitely been proven to convert. 1 of my own email marketing examples was when I sent out a mailing to my list and got sales. Now there's not a search engine sat inside their email inbox which they happened to be searching their emails for a product in particular and they found the one I was promoting and decided to buy? No what actually happened is that I got my link in front of them with some well written sales copy and content and got them to buy, no search engine involvement what so ever.

Think about it
What is a search engine really doing for your?
Is it bringing you targeted traffic that converts or is it traffic that you could do without burring up your server resources. It may sound a little cold but seriously Links should be your strategy and Sales or conversion optimisation should be your goals.

How does it really fit into your over all Link Strategy?
I know a whole lot who place SEO - Search engine optimization as their number one be all and end all. It should really be apart of what you do not every thing in its entirety. SEO focus should maybe set back about 10% to 30% of your over all Link Strategy time allowance.

How broad is your mindset when you think about a Link?
Think about what a Link/s can do for your site, how can you create a well optimised link that when mixed with good content in the right place on the web will bring you sales and conversions. Think about the naturally occurring SEO benefits you will get from a quality set of links just for them being there out in the world wide web.

World wide web of what?
= Links that what, if you think of a motor way or highway that connects and interlinks vehicle traffic via interconnected road routes throughout a country or city and one particular route gets your from Washington to Texas or London to France (channel tunnel) even. Well that's the same as a visitor on the web who clicks your link to get to your site/landing page.

I may update this post I ain't sure yet depends if you guys like what I am talking about or have questions.
