Which is better? High quality irrelevant backlinks? Or relevant backlinks?

A lot of the backlink services offer high quality backlinks, but if they are not relevant to my niche, how can they help my site rank?

Relevant in content links are better than any type of other link.

Okay, so buying backlink packets would be a waste of time and money?

        Not at all.

I am just saying the other is BETTER. But those links are very hard to get.

Okay, so that I understand correctly Aaron, purchasing a backlink packet from Paul and Angela would be beneficial and may help my website to get ranked.

But, I should also try to find relevant backlinks on my own to add as well?

            Hi latrice17,

Don't make the mistake that many newbies make and assume that search engines use website topics for relevance, because they don't. Search engines are much more granular in their approach to indexing and ranking listings in the SERP. Search engines do not look at websites, per say, they look at individual pages and determine relevance at the page level.

When you create your own promotional backlinks you often have the ability to create some of the content that is placed with your link. If you are creative you can generally make the majority of your backlinks relevant by placing your targeted keyword in or near the anchor text of your backlink.

An irrelevant backlink has no direct influence in ranking for your targeted keyword, however you can pickup a secondary (much weaker) benefit by channeling PR from irrelevant backlinks through your optimized internal link structure. While this secondary influence is diluted it still helps some. But let me be clear on this point, you will not benefit, ranking wise, unless you channel this link juice through a relevant link. This is one of the reasons that internal link structure and optimization is so important in any serious SEO effort.

Depends on what you mean by high quality backlinks. Most services do NOT offer quality but quantity. A High quality backlinks is a link from a page that actually has pagerank.

NEVER turn that down regardless of niche. You can always link to another site of yours and then link back to your money site with your anchor text.

You lose something in that yes but its ton loads better than just skipping the link.

I would like to add to what Mike said about high quality backlinks.

In my opinion, a high quality backlink is a link from a website or a page that actually has pagerank, BUT also has your main kwd in its title and in the content. That is a high quality backlink.

But at the end of the day, any backlink is a good backlink, espacially if it is form high PR site, even if it is not related to your niche.

There's a big difference between getting your backlinks on the main page, side bar, or footer of a high PR site, and getting a backlink on an inner pr0 page of that site.

Obviously the first type is a quality backlink, and yes they are harder to find. Use google, scrapebox or some other method search for related sites, and send them an email...offering to BUY a backlink(you don't want to link back to them). That's the "easy" way. You can also search here on the warrior forum and find some high pr links for sale.

Most backlinks companies offer articles, blog posts, or profiles with links on inner pages which have a pr0. Often times these services offer that the links are from pr 2-7 sites or something similar, which is really not that important. What is important is that it's just a normal link, and not a REALLY good one....just a normal link.

For best results with normal links build them over a long period of time, and your site will move up in the search engines. It won't happen over night, and if you order a service just once, don't expect to get on page one if it's a blast of profiles, or just a month of backlinking.

Links from sites already ranking for you target keywords are amazing. So are links from high PR pages, regardless of if they're related or not.
