Adding New Google Analytics Profile?!

After I activated the Google Analytics plug-in, I get a message saying that I have to select a Profile for GA to work ... so GA knows which site I want it to analyze (I guess).

The problem is, the only thing I can use to do anything with the Profile is a pull-down menu. But the pull-down menu has only one option showing - an old/inactive site - but not the new site I want it to analyze/track.

I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to add a new one. (Every time I point at the Profile box, the pull-down menu activates and shows me the old site ... and, of course, I can't type the new site's URL in there.

Help, any one?

Thanks!
Richard

    Hey Richard,

I've never used the analytics plugin, but one thing that helps with small software glitches like this a LOT of times is restarting my computer. Magic Submitter went crazy on me earlier, restarted and it worked again.

It might just need to "refresh" the GA account or something similar. If that doesn't work...well idk brother, good luck.

It sounds like you havent created a profile for your new site inside google analytics yet.

Your profile ID should look like this 'UA-1998954-1'

You can get this from logging in to your Analytics account. It's available in the 'Account Overview' section. You can also create a new profile here if you wish. Click on the 'Add Website Profile»' link. (This is not in a drop-down box)

Keep in mind, that if you don't have Administrator access to your own account, you can only 'see' profiles and not create them.

    Hope this helps.

You will also need to add the analytics html code that google gives to your site in the meta tags section.
