Hello Warriors!

Pardon these silly questions but I'm just trying to find the missing pieces to the adsense puzzle...

My first question is, I'm using a full banner instead of a large rectangle under my header. From your experiences does it make a difference click through wise?

I'm already getting .50 to $1.00 a week, how can I get $1.00 each & everyday?

Some details:

I'm getting on average 70-90 visitors a day. My site is on the first page of google currently ranking at #2. Around 1600 searches a month.

Any other advice would be great I really want to hit that $3,000 a month mark just from income off the internet.

Thanks Warriors!

My site was already at $1/day when I started my challenge (to reach $100/day) but you might find some helpful info by following my progress in the blog in my sig.

If I were you I would test ad layouts some more. I had a 336x280 under the post title. Then I switched to a 728x90 leaderboard above and below the content, plus a 120x600 skyscraper on the left side. My CTR nearly tripled overnight.

What is your average CPC? Having some content on site with higher paying keywords could help. Are you using at least 3 ad's on page?

I'm using 1 full banner under first header before content and one wide skyscraper on the right... and is it against Google's TOS is I reveal my CPC?

No, it's only against the rules to reveal your CTR i think.

Your allowed 3 ad's on the page so maybe put an ad in the footer and see if it increases your CTR.

Oh ok I'll try that right now. I always figured the more ads on a page the less the click would give me... Am I wrong on that one??

I used to think so too, but yesterday I got 3 x $1+ clicks and my site is displaying 10 individual ads at a time.

                Yeah. 3 ad units ~ 2 leaderboards and 1 skyscraper = 10 individual ads.

Are you trying to get $1 a day, or $10? You said you are wanting $3000 a month.

Anyway, you should be getting more than $1 a week from your current traffic.

Well my ultimate goal is to have one hundred websites making $1.00 or more a day $1.00 x 30 days x 100 sites = $3,000 a month

Very very true I was actually just thinking of that the other day. Just building a site to have hundreds of pages that can make me $100 a day.

I was thinking of outsourcing the page creations. I your guy's opinion do you guys think that would be cost effective?

Well, I don't see this math will work out. If you maintain 100 sites, will you be sure to generate huge traffic to all these sites. Now you are having only 100 visitors to one site. It is better to focus on traffic and the content rather than going with 100 sites. 10 quality websites would serve you better income with adsense.

Yeh you're correct I decided to build my current site right now to have at least 100 pages, build up traffic then rinse and repeat.

This is a method that's doable, but it's kind of a waste of time. You're better off running ten sites making $10 a day. In essence, $3,000 a month.

Hey Warriors this is a quick update to my earnings since I changed my site.

First day which was yesterday I recieved $1.06.

Second day which is today I checked my earnings and it is $2.48.

          Both days 10 visitors.

Next step is create more content (hopefully outsource soon), then create more backlinks (also hoping to outsource process soon).

          I'll keep you guys updated.

          Thanks again Warriors!!

No not yet I'm planning on using wordpress soon after I get $1.00 a day every single day. Right now I'm just using tips from xfactor and clickbump.

No pictures to distract visitors from ads.

Blue links, black text, grey url.

Ads under first header (full banner) and on the right hand side (skyscraper)

    My friend,

My only advice to you would be is to experiment with different ad positioning on your website or blog to see what works best for you, in terms of booting your CTR. There is no guarantee that placing your ads in a different place on your blog or site wold boost revenue, but it's all worth a try. There is no ultimately correct answer in the world of online marketing. You just have to keep trying to see what works best for you. And, in overall, keep your content fresh and relevant, so you can organically build your traffic and your site will be built to it's fullest potential!

Hey guys and gals thank you for all the helpful tips so far, really thank you!

More tips and advice would be greatly appreciated by me and my fellow newbie IMers.

I think I found the problem as to why I'm not getting that much clicks on a daily basis... I believe 70-90 visitors a day isn't enough.

Any suggestions as to how I can increase my traffic? Some details for you guys:

    1. I'm already 1st page #2 spot on google for my keyword so I get some traffic that way.

    2. I'm doing article marketing that gets me a handful a day.

    3. I did some blog commenting before and that brings in a couple of visitors a day as well.

Any way I can use these techniques to differently to bring out their full traffic getting potential?

    What am I missing here?

That's great stats may I ask you...

      Where you position your ads?

What format are your ads, i.e. large rectangle, banner, etc.?

What color and font size do you use?

If you are only getting a $1 a week then you either have the worst click through rate on the planet or you are going for some really low cost words.

Definitely check into higher paying keywords. Also, adding more content pages to the site should get the overall average up.

    Later,

Well I finally figured it out, it was ad placement and other factors. Last night I did a major over-haul to my site taking all the suggestion into consideration.

Results... Today after I recieved a couple of clicks I made over $1.00 dollar. For the impressions in order for me to not reveal my CTR and get penalized for violating Google's TOS lets just say I only need very little to convert to clicks.

      Hi,

I have almost 300 websites (50 top lavel domains and the rest are subdomains) being affiliate with expedia and WCT, so in the area of hotels booking.

I get almost 2000 visits/day most from serch engines, all the websites had a link building campaign for 1 month at the time of lanch.

Because of the fall of bookings I'm thinking seriously to switch to Adsense or other affiliate program.

How much can be done with the trafic I have?

You want more money from your site, you can do 3 things:

    1. Get more traffic (rank higher + for more keywords)
    2. Get a higher conversion rate (improve your ad placements)
    3. Get a higher payout per conversion - is there a better way to monetize your site?

    hey guys.
I'm running about 30 "low" sites myself, getting about 300-500 $ / month. That's not bad, although it's not fancy ...
what criteria do you use to find "good" niche sites? What makes them better and how do you find those niches? Guess a few of those will be better than building another 100 creepy sites...

      Hi 3000,

$1 per day from 70-90 visitors is not good, I would be looking at 3-4 times that.

But I do not know your niche so it is hard to say as you could just be getting 5c per click.

True indeed I'm getting more clicks now though because I changed my site around. I believe I'm getting around .50c per click.

I have years of experience testing adsense...so I know what works really well, on my sites and helping others. I have seen adsense earning triple with just a few tips...most people really do not know how to use adsense.

Of course it's going to be different on every site based on your theme...but when you go to wordpress...I would use the quick adsense plugin....select the option for "ad in the middle of the post"

Make sure you do a 300x250 block
Always always you a matching background with your ads...so if the page is white..so will the background of your ad be.

Link color: People always do crazy colored links of adsense on their sites...let's take a look at the top sites on the net....google..yahoo..facebook... ALL of them use blue as their link... People are brainwashed that links are blue...you will get more clicks by doing this

I would also recommend doing a link unit below your menu/header as well....

Also for most sites...what color should we go with? Again...most the of the popular sites...google..yahoo...facebook...have white pages for a reason....it's easy to read and navigate...this also makes the blue links stand out more.....I see so many people with crazy colored pages...red...black...blue...

You need pages easy on the eyes...easy to read and navigate. Don't worry about too much design...your going for profits here not looks.

There are a lot of things you can do to increase your adsense earnings...these are just a few tips..hope that helped...good luck!

Great!...wordpress is free by the way. I use hostgator myself...its very very simple to set it up...just a few clicks...easiest out of all the hosting I've sent them up on continued success!

Oh ok for some reason I thought wordpress was free. So you only have to pay for hosting and domain fees. Now I'm really interested.

So far 2 days without a single click. Working of getting more traffic though (article marketing).

    @3000:
Try building Angelas & Paul Backlinks on you site (deeplinks & links to main page). Use your desired keyword for anchor-text. Ping all the links using ping.in afterwards. You should climb up to good position in SERPs quite soon. If you don't get enough traffic on google spots 1-3, close down the site and get a better niche.

    just my 2 cents.

I have seen to many sites with crazy colors and add placement and they expect to get something??? Position of ads might be different, you have to test it out yourself.
