Region Setting for Amazon.com in Market Samurai

When setting up a new profile in Market Samurai -

if my focus is sales in Amazon.com do I leave the Region setting as is, ie, "All Regions & Countries,"

or do I set it to USA?

I've noticed that results I get for "All Regions & Countries" in rank checker etc

is not the same as I get when searching in my browser with Google.com.

For example, rank checker says one of my home page is page 1 #2 for my main kw.

However, if I do the search in Google.com I'm #8.

Can someone explain/help?

Thanks,

  • I personally set my setting to US when I'm using Amazon.com.
I'm sure you may get traffic from other countries who may even buy, but I think the majority of your traffic will come from the US.

    • Bingo123,

It is something that never occurred to me until I noticed the discrepancy in results just yesterday.

Just downloaded the free kw research e-book in your signature.

      Thanks,
  • That will be a nice idea, can you post any of your statics before and after changing your settings, i am just curies about the traffic increase

    • Hi Iresh, I don't really compare settings too closely. I just know that if I'm selling stuff from Amazon.com, then it will be advertised in US dollars. This means if someone from the UK etc visits the site, they will often go to their local Amazon. Due to this I just assume that I should set my regional settings to US.
Obviously this is just a guide though, but I find it give a more realistic report, rather than getting my hopes up about global settings and then not getting the traffic I thought I would. Any extra traffic from outside the US is just a bonus I guess.

Young Samurai, I hope you enjoy the ebook. It's really simple stuff, but very very powerful.
