Backlinking Question

Hi, I have a few sites, and I just added quite a few backlinks. The sites have now dropped off quite a bit in their rankings. Is it just a matter of time before they come back to the same position or higher, or may they never come back?

Also, I made a small change to the title of one site, and now it is gone from the google results page. Will this come back also? It has been about 3 days for this one so far.

  • I'd say just give it some time. You need to go for high quality PR back links. I always aim for PR 3 or higher.
  • From recent experience one of my keywords was on page 13 of Google, so I did a days back-linking and it went to page 10 overnight. Then the next day it had gone all together for that keyword, I was worried and then yesterday it came back on top of page 3. So it jumped 10 pages up the ranking in 3 days, so be patient it will come back IMO
  • Especially new sites will bounce around. If it is an older site, I would be a little more concerned.
  • It will probably bounce around, but always keep building links consistently or else your sites will start to fall off.
  • Backlinks effect is not an instant thing. It requires patience. All you have to do is to do is continue what you are doing.
  • Next time, do not change the title of a site that is already indexed by Google and ranking well. If you would like another title, write a different article for that new title. That gives you 2 articles in the search engines instead of 1.

  • Just give it some more time. It sounds like it is just dancing around.

    If all else fails, change the title back to what it was and create more backlinks.

    Did you get rid of a keyword title and replace it with a title that doesn't have your keyword in it?

    • I have two keywords. For the first I went from page 7 to page 1 in about 6 days doing a intensive backlink estrategy.
      The second keyword hasn't moved any position so, take your time the effects of backlinking are slow and it deppends on the keyword.

      Some keywords need an extra effort to get well positioned

  • You should not change the title of your site before proper analysis.This probably is the reason why your site witnessed a drop.If you want to get your rankings back then do proper analysis of your keywords and set the title accordingly.Make sure not to change the title again and again.
  • backlinks wont always appear when you check for them best bet is to wait a week or two and your see that there just keep adding up
  • I would'nt worry about this its normal give it a week or two and your see your back links again
