Google Maps

I'm not much on local search - so I need a little help w/ Google Maps.

If a person is on Google Maps and ranked as a "Chiropractor" - can he also be ranked w/ his second business as a "weight loss manager"?

Also - can he be ranked in many towns - not just one?

  • If you are talking true google maps, ranking is a relative term, not the
the same as website ranking. You can "rank" without a website. It's
    a listing.

In order to be shown on google maps, in multiple places, one would need
to submit a different listing for each place. If it was at the same address,
it would not be allowed by google TOS. They want you to have only
one thing at each address. Yes, you may get away with it.

Getting back to a listing that was in multiple cities, as an individual, you
would need to do one for each location. Exceptions are big names like
Home Depot. They would not submit 1,000 places. This is
because google maps draws info from a wide variety of sources,
and not just their own. If they get listings from yellow pages, yelp, etc., your
businesses in other locations may actually show up.

As far as your weight loss thing goes, when adding that business, you would
choose the description and type of business, and maybe show up for
different searches. Use the description wisely. Chiropractic weight loss.
But the listing would only show up once.

The organic searches are whole different ballgame.

  • Thanks Paul.

Yeah - I was only talking about Google Maps - not the Organic section of a result page. Thanks for your info!
  • With Google Maps you can find the best places to eat, shop and stay. After you find a place, click on more info to get reviews, ratings, business hours, and check it out in Street View.It helps to find any place of the world. You can find a property from the market.
