they are pay per performance based. I pay 250 set up fee (normally 500) and each month I am billed on my first page of google landings for my keywords. this is not an ad for them, but a sincere inquiry because im a big skeptic and anything that sounds too good to be true, usually is! they are called

Pay Per Performance SEO Services, Search Engine Optimization | Green Banana SEO

i called one of their references, a plumbing business in boston area. its just so difficult choosing the right seo company. cant i just hire someone who has SEnuke and have them do everything for me?

I laugh at those places. Because, what happens if they have 2 clients
going to for the same keyword? They can't have 2 on top now, can they?
But never wanting to take money off the table, they will cajole you into
getting you #1 for some obscure long phrase that you really don't need
nor want. And they'll say, "See? Numero uno, baby!"

    Check this line out:
"Each keyword and keyword phrases's price is formulated by analyzing how competitive the keyword is " EXACTLY!!!! LOL! That's code for, "We think you know nothing, so we
    can schmooze you..."

Unless they guarantee you #1 for YOUR chosen keyword, the exercise is moot.
You probably already rank for some long phrase.

A big red flag is the words, "The Wall Street Journal" for no apparent reason.

Sounds familiar. Traffic swarm used to team up with one such outfit years
back. They kept touting their "car wax" site as proof. I have not seen that
in a long, long time. It was called the big gorilla, or something.

Paul, they sent me a report on what i would be charged, etc with the keywords i gave them. first off I dont REALLY know if the keywords I gave him are the best. I just rattled them off to him off top of my head. short sales education, real estate investing, how to buy foreclosures, short sale, stuff like that. he gave me a report, can i send it to you for your review, im serious about NOT making the same mistakes I made in the past, and that was just sending money to vendors and getting crap in return. Trying to do my best due diligence. I have someone else who is 250 per month that contacted me through the forum named Tarun, he seems to be legit as well, but is 250 per month. he also sent me what they would be doing with hdss.com.

Are you talking about google adwards? If yes, how is the response with respect to traffic and business?

I don't think there's anything wrong with Pay Per Perfomance as such, plenty of big SEO companies do deals like this.

I would be cautious with this kind of setup if you don't know what keywords will convert. You basically need to be smart about SEO to make it work. I would also not want to be the one offering this over the internet. Who says you customer won't just screw you over once first page is in place?

When I buy services online, I buy services that I can measure like a number of articles, links, blog comments etc.

If you sent them a list, they will tweak it if it does not fit them.
Because, if they did not, they could never guarantee you #1.
They would just be spinning their wheels. They have to come up
with a keyword, mixed with yours, that makes you feel as if they
are accomplishing something. In actuality, they are doing nothing
for you that you probably already are doing.

And that still does not answer why they have an image with
"The wall street journal" on their page for no reason.

      But there's more red flags.
They will tweak your content. Well, you can do that.
They will add content. Well, you can do that.
Those 2 things are what you should be doing now for free.

They will tweak your meta tags, like keywords and description because
they feel this is an important part of "website promotion." Well excuse me!
That has nothing to do with getting to #1 on google. So what are they,
      SEO or promotion?

They will submit your site to google, dmoz, yahoo, etc. Why? That
alone is something you never need to do. But, it sounds good. It sounds
      like they are DOING something.

At each and every step, they are doing nothing that isn't normally done
by even the most basic SEO.

What exactly are you paying for?

You are a reasonable chap. You know a bit. You certainly don't
need to pay them $250. There are plenty of warriors who will do
      boat loads more for less.

Narrow your phrase to real estate investing. Demand that phrase only.
See what they say. If they say, no can do, and try and twist it, you
are probably already ranking for some unique combo.

Seriously. Ask them about that WSJ image.

Of course, no one would never promise results on 'real estate investing' for $250 a month. More like $2500 a month AT LEAST.

Here is a tip... forget the 250 setup fee.

Have about 5000 blog comments done form you here, have a few thousand profile links made for you, have someone who has some high post count on a few forums to add your link to their signature. Hire someone to do a press release for you... have someone create a link wheel or two for you. There you go, thats 250 for you and that is more than what they will do. If you need someone to "manage that" let me know, I'd be glad to help.

one of the other red flag things was the sales guy kept calling and calling, i mean like 3 times a day, i wouldnt answer, he would call from a different phone number and leave a message, then he would call from yet another phone number! he also would keep sending me emails "are you ready? just sign the contract and we will get you started...". I told him today, dude! ive been in sales all my life, i can appreciate your hustle and persistence, but there is a fine line in sales between persistence and annoyance. you are pushing me the other way. I got your info, im doing my due diligence and you are not the only option for me here. So, looks like I'll be not using them. their contract was also for a full year.

Im gonna look at other options, this guy Tarun I found on here seemed pretty legit and also someone from odesk sent me a good proposal.

Ill be PM'ing some of you, we need to get hdss.com rolling!!!!!! some sales are trickling in and I haven't done anything yet except post on my twitters and fb, and had some friends and fam share the link. I am very happy with the site design and especially the copy.

If they're desperate for work, its usually a sign that they are not everything they promote themselves to be.

I like your site by the way. Are you dropshipping?

@Daniel, thanks, I have been getting very sincere positive feedback on the site, we are excited about it thanks. Used a copy writer I found here on the forum. dropshipping? no this is a digital product delivered in PDF. And yes, I agree about him being so persistent, calling from different lines, emailing me, he pushed me too far and turned me off.

We are getting some legit sales already and all I did was put it out to my personal fb and twitter and running a fb ad.

Ive got some emailing to do to some of you guys, let's rock and roll! Our first baby is due in february, I have to get this thing running on autopilot by then! lol.

I would stick with someone on the warrior forum, there are several legitimate link building services on this forum that are more trusted (most likely) and can offer the same service at a lower price, if you contact me with some keywords and your website i could set up a service exactly the same with lower prices depending on the keywords.

Here is why I would be cautious with this.........

Reading through their home page, they do make the claim that you don't pay unless you get to Page 1. That's all fine and dandy, except they don't say anything about getting to Page 1.......for profitable keywords.

in their report, they rank their keywords you will be ranking for in catagories. from highly competitive to low competition. you pay based on where you land. if I end up with the keywords that are "highly competitive" i pay about 750 per month, if its low comp keywords its like 350, so it varies, i just sent them an email declining their services. i was in sales, i know what its like thinking you have someone "on the hook" and they disapppear, least I can do is let the guy know Im going with other service. which one exactly, im not sure, but wont be them.

I'd be more inclined to try and do my own SEO. For the money you are going to pay, you could spend a fraction of that on a decent keyword tool and learn how to do everything yourself. That way you are also leaning a new skill which is never a bad thing.
