Market Samurai shows different results than what Google adwords keyword tool shows

Hi,

I was just going through google adwords keyword tool and saw 22,200 as local searches per month for a keyword term I want to rank for a client I am doing SEO for. When I put in that same keyword within Market Samurai, it showed me 7 searches a day which makes it 210 local searches a month.

I don't understand why is there a major difference between what Market Samurai shows and what google adwords keyword tool shows.

I don't really know which one is authentic, google adwords keyword tool or market samurai?

Can anyone please tell me which one should I believe in, especially those people who own market samurai can share their views on this.

Thanks.

That's one of the reasons that I don't use things like that to do my keyword research - I just do everything manually.

Anything that is legally getting information from Google has to have API access to do so. For that kind of thing you'll pay for monthly access hits, so it's likely that they use cached information some of the time.

I find my best new keyword/niche success with rising keywords that other people aren't seeing with their software. In fact, the average monthly search counts aren't high enough to draw attention, but you can still find them if you know how to look for them.

Well, thanks for posting. However, do you rely on google adwords keyword tool for seeing the search volume of a keyword? You did not clearly mention that.

I must really know whether I can trust data from Google Adwords Keyword Tool, or Market Samurai?

Can any of you please post your views?

So what way do you use to find those niches? / How can you be sure the search volume's high enough?

I think MS uses Australian Data. Try looking up "distance learning." Got many references to places in AUS. That is why I wrote my own tools!

So what do your tools do / what data do you use?
I've thought about writing my own tools too, but I'm really not sure what data to use in what way. :-/
