How many backlinks should be build in a day?

My website is still fairly new and I wondered how many backlinks should be built each day to it?

I've heard that I should build no more than 8 or 9 each day. I am using the free trial of the Link Juicer and was also considering subscribing to Angelas monthly subscription.

Anyone have experience with this and could lend some advice?

    5 to 20 backlinks per day is good for a new web site. But for a well established old site, we can build more links.

    Start with 3-5 but relative and high PR link a day.

    Indeed, backlinks is very useful, but too much backlinks is not a good thing, I think 10-20 backlinks per day is enough.

    You can do 100 a day if you want, their is no limit. The only problem is if you build 100 links to today, you have to build a 100 links tomorrow and the next day. You don't have to be perfect, but you have to show some consistency when you building a bunch of links like that so soon, or google may look like that and accuse you of using some black hat trick.

    Most people suggest you start around 10 a day or even lower, if you're just starting out because they know the amount of work it take to build those links.

    But start with relevant high PR links. BTW since you're page rank is "0" and your site is new I wouldn't suggest trying to get backlinks from sites with a PR of 6 or higher.

      Another bit of common SEO mythology.

      Sites go viral all the time and gain 100's of links in a short time then stop getting links. It's quite common. It would actually look less natural for a site to get 100 new links a day, every day. Also, you have to consider that links won't always be seen at the same time.

    If you're in a niche that I'm in I would recommend fewer than that, maybe one a week or even one a month. You wouldn't want to be 'sandboxed'.

    But, seriously, build as many as you want, especially if you're doing it manually. Even automated techniques are unlikely to cause you any problems with Google although often links you get this way are or become discounted or not counted. Also, you may encounter other problems, such as your site(s) ending up on anti-spam lists like Akismet. This could limit your link building opportunities in the future.

      True that..I learned my lesson about 6 days. I was building a good bit of links per day, and I happened to take 2 days off and poof! my site went from #6 to non-existence, and it still haven't came back.

      What's odd is that now that I go to website, it seems like all of my backlinks have been wiped out, according to SEO Quake.

        Backlinks are the most required things for a website and it is really good if you are getting more then 10 or 15 backlinks per day. It is hard but it will beneficial if you put more efforts to earn more backlink.

    Theres no speed limit, but make it consistent.

    ie - don't build 1000 in one week, then never any again.

    From a quality aspect make sure your links are targeted to sites in your niche unless they are news and social sites.

    1000 various sites with links < 20 targeted links from your niche < 20 social links from followed social profiles

    The last metric I heard was a 10x difference from social links. SEOMoz has done a few experiments with social links if you want more info.

    The sandbox is a myth, google will not penalize your website what so ever for building backlinks to fast, so build as many as you would like to build to rank for the term you are trying to rank for!
