Adsense ads not relevant on home page only

Hello!

I have an annoying problem with WordPress autoblogs I am creating...

I put adsense ads on all the pages, and on my homepage only, the ads are completely irrelevant. On other pages on my site, the ads show up correctly.

In other words, if I go to mydomain.com, the ads are irrelevant, about WordPress. Then if I click a post link on the main page, I go to mydomain.com/blah-blah-blah and the ads show up correctly. If I go to my archive page or sitemap page, the ads show correctly. When I do mydomain.com/?x=123 the ads show up correctly. But if I go to my home page, they show up incorrectly as WordPress ads.

For sure the sites are new and the site I created yesterday is indexed. I turned the Interest-based ads option off and tried the ad sectioning, didn't help.

Is there anything I can do to get the right ads on my home page? Or do I have to wait it out?

Thanks.

    It just takes some time. This sometimes happens when the Google bot visited your site before your content was set on the home page, so in a manner of speaking it has "cached" what it thinks are the keywords.

    Add a paramater to your URL like the example below and see what ads Adsense places on that page. I bet you they are context sensitive.

    Try this: add /?x=2 to the end of your domain name and see what the resulting page displays. Something like this: www. domainname .com /?x=2

    This will force what I call an Adsense "page refresh" and it will now see your new content on the home page. This will demonstrate that Google will see the content correctly once the bot visits again and takes another look. Might take a couple days, but it will work out.

    I've had the same problem before and was frustrated, too, but this is what I learned and it will work out.

      Have you tried adjusting the Adsense ads to your content?

      Like this:
      <!- google_ad_section_end -> Your Content Here
      <!- google_ad_section_end ->

        This is certainly helpful, but it's just a matter of time at the moment. Trust me.

        Thanks, I tried that, it didn't work. I will leave it alone for a bit and see what happens.

      Thanks, I mentioned that I tried /?x=123 and it showed the relevant ads. But without it, it still shows WP ads. I did put the adsense script in before I put in content. I probably should have put the adsense ads in as the last step, I may try that with a different site to see what happens.

        Yes, you will learn to write solid home page content before you drop in either an Adsense ad or Google Analytics, etc. If you drop them in before the content Google is likely to visit within minutes - and then sees no content on your Home Page.

        As I mentioned, Google then seems to cache that lack of content in it's memory when it tries to display ads and the result is they are not content specific.

        Relax. Couple days and it will be back to normal.

    It could also be Google's cookie, purposely showing ads relating to previous websites you have browsed through instead of displaying ads relevant to that of your site.

      Is there a way to remove the cookie? I assume not. Thanks anyway, I'll wait it out a few days I guess. Or maybe start over.

      Hey Matt,

      I saw you started a thread in January about irrelevant AdSense ads on your blog homepages but proper ads on all the inner pages...

      This just happened to a number of my well established pages - did you ever find a solution? Did it work it's way out on it's own?

      I appreciate any incite you have...
