Finding good niches...

hey folks!

I'm running a few Adsense-blogs, earning about 10-20$ / day. That's not that much, so it occurred to me to be a good idea, just to build up some more of those blogs. Content creation, blog-setup, linkbuilding have been automated quite far - but I think it's quite hard to find valuable niches.

What tools do you have made good experiences with? I'm neither pleased with Google's "Adwords Keyword Tool" nor with "Market Samurai".

I thought about writing my own tools, but I'm not sure what data-source to use... and for what data to check in what way...

Any sugestions? Any good/bad experiences?

Thanks for your help! :-)

Cheers
Andy

  • Micro Niche Finder seems to help me find some nice niches. I recommend it.
  • If your not happy with Adwords Keyword Tool then not sure what to say.

Almost every tool out there gets information from that. It's the source.....

Also Market Samurai is probably the best software out there for finding niches.

When I find niches to email out to my list here is what I do...

Either go to google shopping and keep refreshing looking for keywords
    or
go to wikipedia and hit random article and find keywords

then plug those into google keyword tool and find ones that get above 1k exact search

then go to google and check for alltintile, ect

finally if those check out use Market Samurai to check SEO Competition

If it all looks good then I email it out and start over.
  • I think you can search in google about some competitive niches, money already spent in there, and it means it's a lucrative niche.

    Competitive niche = lucrative niche

Go out there, do a lil research, a tool won't solve your niche research that easy.

If you want to look for a tool for keyword research, I think you can simply look at market samurai, it works but it works slowly these days.
  • @aaron: Google Keyword Tool just offers too broad stuff, I think. No detailed / long tail keywords ... or is there a trick to get them? Btw: I'm going into German niches mostly.
Market Samurai IS a great tool, I bought it half a year ago and it's totally worth the money. Love the Competition check. But same problem over here: not sure what keywords are really good / no long tail keywords.
What do you mean by " then go to google and check for alltintile, ect"?

@visimedia: I guess there's enough good niches left... there shouldn't be need to "steal" other peoples niches, yet... probably stupid thing, but I'd like to try it this way first. :-)

@Larry: Thx, I'll look into this!

    cheers

    • You get what you enter.

Start off with 1 word and use phrase. Find one out of that list and search for that one using exact match. But you can find long tail keywords pretty easy.

Just recommend going to play with it.

  • phrase seems to be a good one to find more long tail keywords. To check the real search-volume checking "exact" is the right way of course...
