Help! Targeting Specific Keyword Via Generic Domain Name

Hi,
Is that possible to target specific keyword when my domain is generic domain meaning none of the targeted keyword in my domain name for example my domain name is XYZ.com and I targeted keyword free books? Does the exact domain name help the website to get indexed?

    Have you Googled on 'free books' and seen what comes up in search results?

    yes get some backlinks from other sites with anchor text =[keyword you are trying to rank].that should work

    Yes, it's no problem.

    EMD's are great for the extra boost in SERPS.

    If you decide to target a keyword without emd, make sure you have your targeted keyword in your sub-domain, and proper on - page seo.

    Ex: xyz.com/free-ebooks
