SEO based on the keywords from AdWords?

I'm having some doubt about using keywords.

I manage a AdWords account for a client and wonder if my logic make sense, using the keywords with the highest IMPRESSIONS for phrase match and exact match inside that account for my SEO/Niche sites.

Off course they have to be researched a bit in respect to competition and comercial viability and if they make sense overall, but at least they can become a Blog post on a WP site in the same niche I guess.

They are searched for, otherwise they would not have high impressions.

Am I on the right track herewith?

Thanks for feedback.

G.

In my opinion, using the exact match impression numbers for a keyword in your Adwords account is probably the most accurate "keyword tool" available.

Even Google's keyword tool gives search totals as an average over time so having the kind of data you have access to is gold. Especially if you have conversion rate figures for those keywords.

Also, the "local" numbers are the numbers for the previous months. The Google tool is by far the best tool for finding your traffic numbers. "Global" is 12-month average and "Local" is the previous month's number.

Google keyword tool (the newest) is still the best tool IMHO.
You can use their web interface or use tools that scrapes their pages like http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...cker-more.html

    You have the right idea.

There is nothing more profitable than going for your best converting PPC keywords with SEO and get #1.

Click Through Rates in PPC at #1 average about 4%, whereas CTRs in SEO at #1 average 40%. Meaning those best converting PPC keywords are literally 10x more profitable if you land #1 organically.

Note this is something you would never know without a PPC campaign.

Thank you all for your answers

Had a feeling that I'm on the right track, just needed that confirmation.

Actually I think I manage that AdWords campaign quite well with a 8% CTR and a 1.7% conversion rate.

Just couldn't figure till now how to get the CPC down, I have a 7 to 9 QS but pay about 0,70 a click and $40 bucks per conversion, expensive for my taste.

Let me export those keywords now :-)

P.S - to clickbumped and jayanuaria, this has nothing to do with the Google Keyword tool, it's a 5k/month AdWords account with a good list of keywords which actually get searched and convert.
