I have my website at store.ijdmtoy.com and when I did a domain age search that

my domain: ijdmtoy.com has three years but the store.ijdmtoy.com is unknown.

Since my money site is hosted at store.ijdmtoy.com instead of ijdmtoy.com, will this affect my google ranking?

and if I want to fix this, how?

Did you recently create the subdirectory? That is probably the age Google is going off of.

If you want to fix it, the only thing you can do is put up a 301 redirect from your core domain to the store.yourdomain.com. It won't fix the age registration displayed but it might improve some of the page rank and trust for your store to rank in Google as well.

Just keep in mind that this will also cause anyone who visits your core domain to be sent to the store automatically. Choose your actions wisely.

    Thanks for your opinion.

I created this subdomain at the end of 2008.

I did use 301 redirect from the core domain to my subdomain.

Actually my subdomain has PR3 as well, but I just done understand why its age is still unknown.

    any other thought?

I'd be interested in the answer to this, too - I've seen it many times while using Market Samurai, but was thinking it was only for newer domains/subdomains. Maybe there's something else at work here, though, if yours was 2008!

It's probably not affecting your rankings at all.

And it's probably just a glitch in the registrar.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

When I am using Market Samurai, it says one of the reason my website is not ranked so well because the domain age is too young. Therefore I am so concerning about this.

So can I contact me domain registrar to fix this issue?

You can try if you like.

Just keep in mind Market Samurai is just a tool and it can be wrong just like a broken compass, especially in complex cases like this.

And considering you have a 300,000 alexa rank, you are doing pretty well regardless of what your concerns might be ;-)

From what we have seen, subs are on their own mostly.

They rise and fall based on their content like any other domain - sub or not.

Other experiences?? Just wondering. I have a WP Mulit (MU) that has 4-5 bloggers on it writing personal journals (2 years old), and I am thinking about autoblogging from the domain on subs.

    Not a huge sub guy.

    thanks for all the help.

I guess I will wait couple more years for my sub domain to be aged.

If the domain was banned, well, that's a different story.

But why do you think google gives a rat's hat about domain age?

Grow older, waiting for some boost?

How about this. Register a domain, wait 5 years to develop it.
Better still, wait 10! In ten years you'll be an overnight success!

Any links that may or may not be around have lost any effect, if it
      was a previously developed website.
