Youtube/Twitter/Facebook Backlinks! Do they help SEO?

Hey mates!

I've not been here for a long while, but decided that this is the best place to find some decent info!

The question is whether these youtube/twitter/facebook backlinks (which are no-follow) do help with serps!

When speaking about facebook backlinks, the technique is to just post some links in your profile/create fan pages for your site etc?

    Youtube yes.. But for Twitter and Facebook.. I think they are more to promoting your website rather than giving back links.

      i recently read about a case study that used facebook/twitter promotion and socialbookmarks and blog posting and had some great SEO results

      when the project was repeated with a similar domain,without facebook/twitter promotion, the SEO results were much less impressive :/

    This is an evolving area of SEO, and there's lots of talk about how it could/could not directly affect SEO.

    My opinion, let it be a marketing move to drive direct traffic, and if it helps rankings, its a benefit.
