SEO benefits of several Diggs

This seems like a crazy question to me, but I actually ran into this problem last night.

A couple of my sites got some Diggs, about 20-30 each, within a 24 hour period. At first, both sites shot up in the rankings. But by the end of the night, they were both about 10 spots lower. This was all in the 24 hour period.

Could I have received some type of penalty for all the Diggs?

Might be or might be it is due to google dance. Wait for a while and generate bakclink on targeted keywords.

I wouldn't place too much emphasis or concern on this. Most likely just the "dance" as mentioned above.

I totally agree on this. Just wait a couple of days but keep building some link and your golden. Its just the dance as derekjensen says so.

Thanks for the advice. I don't see how you could get penalized for getting Diggs. Getting your site dugg is supposed to be a good thing, and Digg is a respected site. Seems crazy to even question it, but just thought I'd see what everyone had to say.
