Why Is It So hard To Indexed Now??

Did you install an xml.sitemap and send it to the search engines?

Try submitting to Mixx as well. Google indexes them a bunch.

I haven't noticed any increased difficulty getting a new site indexed but I have noticed a slower rate of pages being indexed on newer sites. Around a week delay between posting and indexing.

I thought sending the xml.sitemap to search engines would slow things down. I never put sitemaps on my blogs and they always get indexed in a day or two.

I just don't get why it's taking so long. It use to never take this long.

I've found the opposite. I'm using the WP XML Sitemap plugin which notifies search engines so that might make a difference.

Anyway, with that the bots are crawling right away and the site is typically indexed within a day or two. I really don't care if it takes a couple of days since I'm not in a hurry. Slow and steady wins the race.

I also hit the site with a couple of ping.fm posts so I've got several roads leading bots to my sites.

But yeah, some things do seem slower. Maybe the google motherships hard drive is full.

Hmm...I wonder if new sites just take longer to index now? I have never had this problem before with dozens of websites I have created.

I've had very mixed results, I have some pages getting indexed within hours and others taking a week or two before they are indexed - it's crazy!!!

Every post you have made has been 4 or 5 words - if you're trying to build up your post count try contributing to the forum conversation a bit more instead of just spamming!

Here you go. This is a SOLID SOLUTION - this is NOT a suggestion!

I do this with ALL of my sites and have them indexed in less than 24 hours.

Do this..

1. Go to Is My Site Indexed? - and enter in your URL. Once submitted, view all of the pages listed at the very bottom by clicking on them. You will see the links at the bottom of the page. You dont need to do anything here, just open each in a new window.

2. Submit your URL to DIGG and REDDIT. Oh, and TWITTER

3. Submit your site to the 3 major search engines.

URL Submission - Bing
Site Explorer - Submit
Add your URL to Google

4. Ping your URL

Blog and Ping Tool - Use Pingler.com to Drive Traffic your Blogs and Websites

5. Grab a cup of coffee, or in my case, tea (Very important)

I find if I put adsense on a site before its indexed it can take longer to get indexed.

It's definitely harder, but certainly not impossible, but I've had great success with SEO link robot's meta indexer and pinger, I usually get any site indexed 1-2 days after running it through both of those, if you want, you can PM your domain and I'll run it through for you

If you have access to a PR3 webpage on a PR4-P10 website with dofollow, you should be indexed within a day or two. At the same time, use an XML sitemap plugin as well to auto-notify when content is added.

My new posts on my money sites get indexed by Google within 3 minutes of posting, but those are not new sites.

Hmm.. I recently submitted a non-WP website to Google and my site just got indexed in their search engine in less than a day I think (page 1 on all my keywords of my domain name). And to think it's just duplicate content.

Could it be that Google tends to shy away on sites done on Wordpress?

I may be wrong, hope it's not true.

Here's my "trick" -- create a new twitter account and make sure you put the URL of the site you want linked into the profile of the new twitter account. Every time (so far) that I have done this, I find google indexes the target URL very quickly indeed -- think hours maybe a day tops! Interested to hear how you make out. Let me know.

I agree, I've had unusual difficulty lately.

It's so strange to hear people complaining about slow indexing times. I've been using the same method for a year now, just started a new site last week, and it was indexed in 24 hours. Here are the steps:

1. Submit your RSS feed to Feedage.com
2. Sumbit your URL to Digg.com

Within 24 hours you should be indexed. I'm telling ya it worked for me just five days ago.

To get a site indexed quickly by search engine, it's really necessary to submit its url as well as its sitemap in the search engine webmaster tool. It's also necessary to get good related backlinks from sites which are always being cached by search engine crawlers.

Why don't you use Nemanja's (a fellow warrior) IMT Website Submitter. It submits your link to over 2500 sites (most are evaluation and who is kind of sites) with a click of a button. It get you indexed quickly while giving you a few good backlinks as well.

ok just submitted rss feed for sites to feedage.com! Hopefully that does something. I have no idea why im having so much trouble guys lol.

There are quite a few things that can go wrong when trying to get indexed. The robot file, sitemap, the dofollow in meta tag.

But, I too noticed that everything takes longer now with Google. Bing indexes much faster and I bet you Bing will perhaps not take over Google anytime soon but it has been gaining tremendous momentum since the last 6 months.

lol scott.....I don't know that for sure. It's hard to tell when a myth is really a myth. Im paranoid I suppose

actually, i never worry about new site index or not cuz all my sites launch, they will be indexed in just a few days or so and i even dont submit any links yet. i am not sure this is my luck or not but i am sure all my blogs indexed and at least take second or third page positions without any backlinks

does it matter that each page on my site is only say 60-70% unique content?

Due to a large number of transaction online, getting indexed in Google does not work the way you may think. I touched on this subject briefly in my last post when I talked about the Google Pagerank. Now I want to get a little more deep into it. Help you get your sites indexed.

Ping your sites.

I see some have already added this but it is absolutely important. Make sure that you are using and submitting your site map to the search engines with xml sitemaps or what ever tool you like.

However I will also add in a little bit more vaule to this.SImply go into your google account and then look for googles webmaster tools. Once in webmaster tools go to your site settings make sure the sitemap is being crawled first. If it is not shown in the sitemaps then you will need to tell it to crawl your site. Just enter in your sitemap which should be /sitemap.xml depending upon where you have your sitemap at. Then go into settings and change the crawl rate. For new sites I tend to put it as high as I can with out it really killing my server. Typically anywhere just about half way on the slider bar works great. You should beable to find your first pages the next day for new sites. This also helps if you want google to index pags fast.

For I am getting my new content indexed with in a couple of hours of posting it simply because I always make sure I maximize the crawl rate on my sites by making it higher then what google wants to crawl them.

Let's just face the fact that you are not the only one who's aiming to be indexed by Google. But try to check out your site again to figure out what's wrong.

Well guys one of my sites got indexed finally! It's only the home page but still it's good to know. The only thing I did different for this site compared to my others?

I submitted a link in my twitter profile and then pinged my profile page. Im now doing this for my other sites.

Petevamp, I tthought submittting your sitemap to google would slow down your index time. Or is that submitting your site to Google will slow it down? Thanks

These days, twitter and identi.ca are the best ways to get indexed. quick and guaranteed.

Haven't read all the replies here because theres too many but I'd say post it to the bookmarking sites, tweet it a few times and then also put your site in the profile section on your twitter profile, usually does the job :-)
