What's your experience with exact match domains + number.
For example, exactkeyphrase1.com

Have you tried with one of those and did you find it harder to rank?

All else being equal, nothing will rank as well as an exact match domain name with no extra characters. But that is just one small aspect of getting ranked. There are many other exterior factors that can help you rank ANY domain name above all exact match domains.

Getting the exact keyword in your name would be the best choice, but if that domain is not available then just add a 1 just like you did here.

are you saying that because you personally had successful experience doing that or?

I got few domains recently with numbers in them, I was bit sceptical at fist as well so I did some research and found that it is quite acceptable. I did get 1auto.co.uk and hot1.co.uk and I think they look very good. I have not had chance yet to develop them so I can not comment on how they would perform but I can not see any reason why the number would have negative effect on SEO.

Don't have any links saved on that, was reading lot of forums and blogs and just talked to people.

If you worried about SEO than can you think of any reason it should effect SEO at any way? I can't and I could not find any either. I think the may thing is that the number would go nicely with the rest of the domain name, that's all.

I see, that helps as well, thanks!

The thing is that hyphenated domains, .us and .co are also supposed to rank equally but i've found them to be quite harder to rank.

I still have hyphens and .us on 1st spot, but why take the extra effort?

Do not always think of the search engines but also think of the humans. After all the persons who would visit your site and give value to it would be the humans.Do not think only about the robots.Choose a domain name that can be easily typed by the humans.FORCE GOOGLE TO RANK YOUR SITE UP.

That could be the answer to anything, but if we can get there easier why take the harder way?
