If back links pointing to your site or blog are suppost to raise it in the search results then why are some many of the product sites them selfs, Like most all the clickbank sites beaten out by review blogs and sometimes even articles?

I know these sites have only one sales page and very little SEO as far as I can tell, but they have tones of one way links pointing back to them from affiliates from every kind of site and blog imaginable.

And why not SEO them a bit and reap more rewards from the search engines?

Was just thinking.

  • No... product vendor sites are normally linked to through affiliate links. As a result, they don't get the link juice. Their Clickbank URL does.

When you put your product on Clickbank as a vendor, you are basically looking to hire sales people who work on commission.

If they will work hard, hard , hard to get their site ranked so that they can sell the product for you on a commission-only basis, then you might as well let them do that.

So you don't have to work so hard, but you still get to collect money from their efforts.

Google calls those one page sales sites "thin affiliate" sites -- and they don't like them. They intentionally filter them lower. Google likes content first and foremost.

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.
