What is w3c validator , and is it useful in SEO ?? if it is then how ??

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is the main international standards organization for the World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or W3).

The W3C Validator (the W3C as a whole) is pretty much the standard when it comes to "valid" script (HTML, PHP, RSS).

If you're you build a site and the code is sloppy (has errors) it WILL display differently in different browser... Probably improperly - Not how you want it to...

You can also validate RSS Feeds to make sure they are compatible and compliant with which code it is written in. This comes into play when submitting your feeds to aggregators - Some will accept the feed while others will reject it. Again, it might display properly in some browsers while not at all in others.

I was having this problem with a site I was making b/c I was using "Strict HTML" and I had a teeny tiny error with some code in for a form... It looked great in Firefox, but looked like crap in Internet Explorer... If I used the validated my site right off the bat, I would have save myself a TON of time and heart ache! LOL!

w3c validator is a free online tool that helps to access your page's accessibility and adherence to "Web Standards".

Validated code results in better search indexing, faster page loads and increased usability for the end user.

By its nature, xhtml code that passes validation (or at least validates with a minimal amount of validation errors) its much easier for machines (read search engine robots) to parse, digest and process.

Ultimately, code that validates well results in better overall SEO and user experience.

It is useful for the search engines as pages validated by W3C are easily indexed and therefore are liked by the search engines.

  W3C refers to the World Wide Web Consortium working to develop open standards for the World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or W3) so that Web documents can be consistently displayed across all platforms.
  Search Engine Journal in the past and the basic conclusion is that although W3C is incredibly important for browser compatibility and overall site usability, it does not have a direct impact on Google rankings, especially since Google's pages themselves do not validate.

  W3C validation means validation of the codes which are used in site. It is useful to increase visibility of your website through the different browser. Search engine give more preference to the error free sites to rank.
