Guys, you don't have to crucify me. I've searched for answer but don't get one.

I noticed that there are clicks on my ads but there is no earnings attached to them. Yesterday, 11 clicks got no earnings. Today, 4 clicks also got no earnings.

I'm I doing something wrong? This is just happening when my earnings is getting to about $1 per day. Pls help me out.

Did you have just clicks and no money?

If so, yeah, you are doing a lot wrong. Could be one of the following:

Mainly mindless clicks from mindless visitors.
You or your friends are clicking.
    People clicking and surfing away.
    Spammed traffic(?)

Google has some sort of measuring tool, like time on site,
how fast between clicks from isp, etc.

Everybody gets invalid clicks. They are normally not a problem.

11 invalids out of 1,000 would be "normal."

11 invalids out of 11 clicks is abuse.

How do you know you are getting no money for a click?
You must check after each click. If not, if you check and you
have $20 on 25 clicks, you do not know how many are invalid.

    What exactly are your stats?

I agree with Paul. Are your clicks legit or are you trying to get around the system? I have had a few .01 clicks before but never anything like what you are talking about.

Of course, I know what's at stake. I can't click on my ads. Well, maybe friends, I can't say.

How I got to know I don't get any earnings? I grouped my ads into different channels and I noticed that one of my Link Unit Ad got 4 clicks today but no earnings.

Hope I won't be banned? I'll try find what the problem is. Thank you guys.

Another question pls. Does Page CTR has anything to do with earnings?

They may not be invalid clicks, but that they advertiser is not paying enough on the ad for Google to get a piece AND for you to get a piece. They're probably only paying like 5 cents a click which means that the money goes to Google FIRST. You will NOT get paid for EVERY click.

The click through can have something to do with earnings, yes. There are internal flagging methods that google uses if you get a LOT of clicks from any one geographic area/ip. If that ONE person clicks a lot, the click through rate may be like %50-%100 and google will deem all of the clicks invalid. As long as all of your clicks are coming from different regions and people are not "clickbombing" you, you're fine. I know of many adsense gurus that get upwards of %30-%40 CTR. One of my sites sits around there as well, but they're all legit clicks. Hope that answers your questions.

Where exactly IS traffic coming from?

When we were still doing PPC traffic in the last year we were getting allot of crap fraud traffic, and the providers of this crap traffic even run bots that click your ads once and awhile to KEEP you dumb and happy.

We were getting $400-$500 a month clawed back by Adsense due to "invalid clicks".

Since we stopped all PPC - getting only natural organic traffic, we have had NO claw backs by Adsense.

Of course, I know what's at stake. I can't click on my ads. Well, maybe friends, I can't say.

You better be able to "say" if your friends are clicking - because that will get YOU banned. Google isn't stupid. Lesson #1 - do NOT tell your friends about how you earn from clicks!

How I got to know I don't get any earnings? I grouped my ads into different channels and I noticed that one of my Link Unit Ad got 4 clicks today but no earnings.
Google does not report earnings in real time. If you have 4 clicks and jump to your adsense account you may not see anything for several hours.

        Truer words were never spoken.

Last week one of our Adsense account looked like it had completely caved in with very little in earnings by 5 PM that night ($12 bucks or so). But then at 10:38 PM it jumped to $45 bucks and change.

Statcounter showed the traffic to be the same as any other day, so should have know it was an Adsense delay.

NEVER seen a delay that long though.

It can work other ways too. One day last week, tons of impressions no clicks, no
anything. All day. Kept watching the impressions go up. Then about 7pm, boom.
Massive clicks, money. I hate that. I love being greedy and watching the stats
go up and up! It's addicting.

It's really put a damper on my day, and ruined my ability to focus properly, the few times my AdSense stats have lagged this badly.

And checking stats constantly can be a huge time hog in itself, anyway.

So I'm trying to get into the habit of only checking my stats once each day, just before bed time.

Still fighting the urge, but I expect it'll get better with time.

Good luck on that one. I've tried to not check for a whole day, and failed miserably.

The only time I don't check for an extended amount of time is when we are in Palm Springs, Mexico, or on the road.
