why is google/yahoo doing this??

i transferred my site from joomla to wordpress about 6 months ago, and i am still seeing a whole bunch of url's from my old joomla site being indexed and crawled.

how is this possible?? i dont have those url's anywhere on my site root or sitemap.

any suggestions would help, thank you.

    1) Redirect each old link that you don't need to your Index page.

    2) Create a new page with all the old URLs as hyperlinks

    3) Put an internal link on your Index page, that points to the internal page that includes all the old links.

    Once Google crawls those redirected links, they should start correcting & update the SERPs

    Once the links are corrected in the SERPs you can delete the link on the Index page & the internal page with all the old hyperlinks.

    If your Index page is 1/2 way active (new content) it shouldn't take very long to correct the SERPs.
