What would be an average or fair price to pay monthly for SEO services that guaranteed 1st page of search engines so many times each month??

    people price it between $40 per month to 5-figures per month.

    No one can guarantee page one rankings, at all.

    They can promise it, but they cannot always deliver -- the don't own or work for Google, so it is impossible to pull that perfect string.

    I would not trust anyone with an offer of that type for less than $3000 per month, but I have been around for a long time...

      Not true at all. A SEO's job is not only to rank for keywords but choose the keywords that he can get on page one for. If not he's useless. I can and do in fact guarantee first page placement for a designated amount of searches per month. What a SEO cannot do is guarantee to get a particular keyword the customer wants to the number one spot but he can and should get some he/she chooses.

      The key is in good keyword and competitive research. Once that is done and a number of targets are set then its just good SEO to get some of those on the front page to fulfill the guarantee - or you stop charging until you do.

      Fact of the matter is there are a whole lot of people getting ripped off because people believe there can be no guarantees in SEO. so people take the money don't deliver and run off.

      Page 1 rankings are definitely doable, as long as you keep up with all the changes constantly made by Google. But yes, these services aren't cheap.

      Cheap services = cheap results.

      I'm sorry but this is wrong. I can virtually take any keyword on the first page in less than 2 months , most people don't need to rank in ultra competitive niches so it's easy to analyze the first page top 10 sites and see what is doable and what is not. When it comes to guarantee top 3 positions then the whole story is different as it's harder to put down those estabilished aged domains or those common big players, but guaranteed page one is doable at all if you know what are you doing.

    It would vary depending upon the service providers. Also, if you are hiring offshore services then the prices would come down considerably. Rather focus on a reputable SEO firm I would suggest.

    Whatever you do, don't pay for google seo services. You can, and should, learn to incorporate SEO into your daily writing and internet endeavors.

    Focus instead on content and then interweave logical SEO throughout.

    I don't mean to come across as downplaying your request for a dollar value on SEO, but seeing how it is the content that makes money (not the SEO), I wouldn't spend a dime on it.

    You need both, but I'd rather spend money on content creation than SEO.

    Depending on the competition I charge about $1,000 a month. Fathom SEO will start you off at a minimum of 5,000 a month, but they also use a lot of that in adwords.

    The most I have charged was 3,000 a month and got a number one spot in 4 weeks for a very competitive keyword.

    The major thing here in choosing someone to do SEO for you, isn't just placement in google. It is to offer a return of investment. I would not be doing it for those prices if I didn't believe they would make 3X the amount from my efforts. Typical ROI is about 300-500% for the majority of clients.

      Adwords is PPC marketing. By SEO people usually are referring to organic search rankings. Just so the Op isn't frightened by all these high prices there are people who do good work for less AND who give guarantees very close to what the OP is asking for. The problem with alot of SEOs is that they try and rank sites against tough competition but the client does not care about that they care about traffic and the key to getting that traffic is not going after the hard keywords but the softer ones that still convert.

      So when a customer comes to me and says "I want to rank number one for auto insurance" I think it my job to tell him that he's barking up the wrong tree. I won't take his money to climb mount everest when I can show him alot of other hills he can stroll right up to the top.

    Well for me, the reasonable quote for SEO services range from $1000 - $1500/month. We should understand that SEO takes time to give you some results, if you need to have positive output then you need to invest money and time.

    A better way to look at outsourcing SEO services is to look at the Return on Investments (ROI).

    Look at the current conversion and how much you are earning out of that keyword / page that you want to rank for.

    Then estimate (broadly and conservatively) how much traffic you can get by getting it to position 1. (Bear in mind that when optimizing for a specific kw, you will get long tail traffic as well)

    Work out the sum and decide how much you should pay for it instead of how much people will charge you.

    I never give out a price without looking at the specific query. Anyone that says "$xxx per month" without looking at the query is just going to milk you unless the query is extremely simplistic.

    depends on how much it costs you to make the links etc. if your overhead is high you need to charge more, also you can create value in keywords so say a medium competition keyword would cost more than a low competition or just charge a flat rate but i would base it off of your cost of doing business.

    Picture this.

    Imagine a candy store who would only get 10 customers a month with your SEO, but they'd only make $5 per customer.

    Now, imagine a plastic surgeon. Imagine if you brought him 10 customers a month, but he makes $5k per customer.

    Actually, It depends on some different aspects. They charge you depending on the quality, keywords, competition, no. of pages on website, and etc. But before hiring someone, I suggest that you must learn it by yourself.
