Is submitting to low-quality directories with good PR and 'DoFollow' good for SEO link benefit?

I'd like to know if submitting to low-quality directories (see list below) that have good PR and 'DoFollow' is worthwhile for SEO link benefit. Also, would Google, Yahoo and Bing frown upon it?

The list of directories I'm thinking of is provided below, PR and Alexa ranks are included. They are all 'follow' links:

prolinkdirectory.com - PR-5 14539
freewebsitedirectory.com - PR-5 17436
freewd.org - PR-4 19481
freedirectorysubmit.com - PR-4 21166
abigdir.com - PR-4 21295
reo01.com - PR-5 22721
domaining.in - PR-4 23842
linkbook.pcgraphicsolutions.com - PR-2 24027
gainweb.org - PR-5 24163

Thanks for your help, I look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Yes any link is worth it, google does not weigh their methods on Pagerank now.

I would however recommend you get some nofollow links as all dofollow links and no nofollow links, does look a little suspicious. Generally, with growth, websites will link to your website under nofollow links and dofollow. Keep under the radar!

It can be worthwhile, but keep in mind the PR of the front page of a directory has nothing to do with the PR of the page your site will be listed on. Each page of any site is ranked individually. The PR of the listings for your category may have a PR0 or PR1. Check before you believe you are getting a high PR listing.

Bing, Yahoo, and Google should not frown upon your submitting to other directories, as long as they are not "link farm" type sites. If they are legitimate directories it should be fine.

I have a feeling that statement is going to be a big surprise to almost everyone. If this is true, then why do sites which have links from high PR sites tend to rank higher consistently? Why is it emphasized by almost everyone to endeavor to get high PR backlinks? What is the purpose of PR?

I'll take a PR5 link over 10 PR0 links every single day, and I'd bet most other Warriors who test their results will agree.

      Hi Owen,

I would have to disagree on this, Higher PR links carries more link power for sure from my experience.

But anyways, I was using Unique Article Wizard to help one of my sites rank higher and no matter how many articles i Blast my ranks wouldnt go up any higher up to a certain point. No matter what I do it just stays stagnant in the SERPS.

I then tried other services and my rankings increased. You need link diversity( many services with various IP's) and High PR links rly help alot.

What do they weigh it on then?

And why do you sell High PR backlink packages if the PR does not matter?

Remember 5 high quality links will beat 1000 low quality directory links. Reach out to some people on twitter who have highly engaged followers and make a deal to have them plug your site. Think social links, directory's are as good as the people who use them....no one. But people do use facebook and twitter as a search tool

Pagerank is not a firm indicator of strength anymore. I have sites with PR1 links from which give a lot more value than ones from some my PR5.

I have never had any link or traffic benefit from directories. I would know because when I first started years ago, that was all I did and it led to nothing.
