Hi Warriors,

I'd like to expand my SEO efforts and am thinking of either purchasing a tool (backlinking etc) or signing up for an SEO service.

Which of the two would you suggest as more productive and which tools or services would you recommend.

Thanks.

    1) Article Marketing Robot
    2) Build my Rank (possibly)
    3) Articleranks (possibly)

Software: SeNuke (since everyone says its the best, personally its too "clunky" for me)....Seo Link Robot (not tested myself), XGen Seo (slow), Magic Submitter (not tested myself)

Above is based on overall reviews on forums

Social linking and local targeting are the key players right now depending on your site. If I were to start seo for a new site that is where I would start.

I prefer a tool for creating backlink, if you want to see an instant result, automation is the good one.

Services are easier to use. Tools (software) sometimes hang or just stop for no reason. But that does not mean they are less effective.

For tools I suggest: Market Samurai, Article Marketing Robot and BookmarkingDemon

For services: Article Marketing Automation, Build My Rank and OnlyWire

...for services I would suggest angela's/paul backlinks packets

and since social bookmarking is powerful, nice tools are bookmarking demon and
      social bot.

Services would be best choice where you can be right control over your SEO works. Tools may end up frustrating result where you won't able to monitor everything when it is automated.

      I suggest both!

Check out the Warriors For Hire section... You can find some pretty good services in there. I like Billy Rey's HOIST packages! I've purchased several of those, as well as multiple services offered by fellow Warriors on this forum.

I am a big HUGE fan of Scrapebox. I use it almost everyday! It's soo soooo much more than just a comment posting tool. It has 23 invaluable add-ons... Possibilities are limitless! Just gotta get a little creative!! :p

I scrape proxies EVERYDAY so if you need some they're in my sig. Free, no lame optin.

      CHEERS!

That completely depends on your budget and available time.
You can outsource a lot of your work to a reasonable and fair
price. Doing it yourself requires a lot time, and trying to do
everything by oneself might be a receipt for disaster.

I definitely recommend outsourcing simple things just
as building backlinks which sucks away a ton of your time.
But that´s just my opinion and process.

I fully second GeorgR. with his suggestion of Build My Rank. I'm a paid subscriber of this service and I have only good things to say about it. Should you decide to go for this service you might save some money by signing up through Build My Rank Discount | Build My Rank Discount

I have nothing against SENuke but like Build My Rank, its a monthly fee. I would seriously consider Steve Hawkins' SEO Link Robot over SENuke as it does what SENuke does without the monthly fee. At the moment SEO Link Robot goes for a one time fee of $157 right here on the WSO thread but it too will be a small monthly fee any time. Of course old customers will be grandfathered and the new monthly fees will not apply to them.

but... tools still take time. services you just need to lay out some ground work and let them do the lifting.

  • I use both. A good service lets you run things on autopilot, but I also like using tools like article submission software so that I am in control.
I saw a WSO earlier that offers a service of doing all your SEO entirely for you. Backlinks from blogs, article sites, forums etc etc each and every month for a monthly fee.
This sounds pretty cool, but imagine if you build your business on this and then for some reason this service goes under? What would happen to your business.

I'm all for using services, but I also like to do a bit of hands on stuff myself. That way I learn SEO for myself and stay in more control of my rankings.

You´ll have to use at least some kind of support. I personally prefer
doing the links manually, I have assistants doing that stuff partly
    for me..

If you build 100% of your links with automated tool, it´s likely
that you´ll face trouble soon, and might get into Google sandbox,
especially if the tools are mostly just coming from one source,
    and are build TOO FAST.

You´ve to consider that if you do that stuff yourself, it will
cost you the tool + the work you put into it. You only have x amount
of hours available, and probably can´t do everything by yourself.
Outsourcing is the key to leveraging time in a friendly way.

You can still go with some tool, but if - use them light!

NO NO NO!!! This is wrong.

Yes, if all your links are coming from one place and only one place, that is a problem. However, building your links manually or with an automated tool makes ZERO difference between the two. Google cannot tell the difference if the link was created manually or through automation.

If this was true at all, I would build a hundred thousand links to your webpage right now and get it sandboxed!

I´ve tested it with SeNuke, my site got sandboxed. Many skilled SEO´ers -
one very successfully said exactly the same.

It depends on how fast and what amount of links you build. Your competition would rarely build a few hundred of backlinks to your side just to avoid that somebody could rank for their keyword.
You mustn´t tell your competition that you´re ranking for the same keyword, nor would your competition and sitting on spot number one hire docents of SEO companies to manipulate hundreds of site who are ranking for your keyword. That´s foolish.

That´s right that Google can´t tell whether the link was build manually or automatically, BUT Google sees how fast and in which time frame the links are build, means that if you build 50 links in an hour - it doesn´t seem natural - what is true.

Great. So now to rank well I'm going to stop building backlinks to my own site. Instead I'm going to build as many as I can, as fast as I can to my competitors. According to you, that will get them unranked. I'll just keep doing it until I'm the last one standing.

Haha, what a concept.... as a**hole as it would be to sandbox all your competition to get to the top, I'm wondering if it would work?

If so, for the most competitive dog-eat-dog keywords, there'll need to be protection against link building. Some sort of Anti-SEO!

Total nonsense, I just completely de-indexed my testsite with 100k blog comments / 100k xrumer links and 2000 AMR article links just to see how hard it would be.

Sites can vanish for a bit after throwing a ton of links at them. So I wouldn't say for sure that it's de-indexed.

Everyone who is saying that tools will hurt your SEO efforts has no idea what they are talkiing about.

It is complete and total misinformation being slung around here. SEO tools simply do the same tasks you would be doing manually, but in a faster more efficient way.

Now if you prefer doing manual link building, that is fine, but please do not fill new marketer's heads with these wrong ideas that using tools is going to hurt their websites.

Traffic Travis is free and cool.

Micro Nice Finder is a great tool.

However, to decide between a service and a tool you would need to assess your time availability for "doing it yourself" verse financial accessibility to paying for services.

Whatever you do be sure to secure a service that is truly valuable and able to deliver what they claim rather than hype's and false promises that are so prolific within the industry.

Read a lot of the posts in this thread and I think that the most common sense approach has got to be using a mixture of tools and manual submission. The tools will most likely get you some short term results where as working at it manually and going for the quality over quantity, ie targeting high level backlink sites, is going to pay off in the long run.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[3372536].message }}

if you know how to use the tools effectively then purchase tools. But just a hint that using seo tools is not as easy as it looks. its takes time to learn them. If you want to learn them fast then pay someone who is an expert.

To make your life easier then use a service

....with a few pennies to point out....I agree with revenuebuilder completely. I am using services by those that know what they are doing. "Tools" out there today are always rather limited, look at SenukeX, Magic Submitter etc. While *in itself* not bad.....they build your links mainly using Web2.0 properties, bookmarking etc.

But this is not enough. Tools are good in combination with other things, like PR blog networks and so fort. I would actually rate tools/software BELOW "services" like blog networks. If i were to only use ONE method (which is dumb of course)..i would use blog networks.

Or you use an "all-in-one" service provider which does all that for you.

The problem with tools like Senuke and SEOLR are that they spam the same kind of web2.0's and fail in filling in profile details and such. This results in web2.0 sites being more alert and removing these new build blogs faster.

Same counts for article marketing robot, the only auto approve article directorys that are left are getting spammed to death with all kind of links (porn/gambling/pharma) causing your links to come from a bad neighbourhood which Google doesn't really like.

Therefore it's important to mix manual linkbuilidng with automated tools. Most people build the links that point directly to there site manually or they use quality article networks like BMR, high PR society, ArticleRanks, SubmitYourArticle and a couple others. Then they use the automated tools to blast these manually made web2.0's and posted articles so that they gain more linkjuice.

At least thats how I get my results, I've done a lot of testing and found out that using these automated tools directly at my moneysites will hardly move them up in the serps.

A great tool I would recommend though is ZennoPoster, you can program it to target sites that hardly any other IM'ers are using.

Both SEO software and services are fine. But if you want your rankings to be maintained in the long run, natural SEO services are recommended. You can easily find them here on WF and Fiverr.

I would say that you should use both software and services. It is extremely time consuming to build backlinks manually.
