Hello!

I'm just getting familiar with Market Samurai and would really need some help determining if particular SEO competition for my keyword is worth battling.

This is three keyword name, i can get exact .net keyword domain and on first page of google for particular word there is competition from sites like wikipedia and related sites with broader subjects. Montly there are arround 1600 exact searches for this keyword.

Is it worth trying or should I find something else?

Since I don't have 15 posts to show you link to MS CEO comp I can't publish screenshoot so here is txt data:
1. wikipedia
2. gov DA: 14 / PR: 5 / BLP:225 (no titles, description,..)
3. broader name domain : DA: 4 / PR:3 / BLP: 225 (no titles, description,..)
4. edu A: 14 / PR: 3 / BLP:12 (no titles, description,..)
5. broader name domain : DA: 0 / PR:3 / BLP: 16 (no titles, description,..)
...
10. broader name domain : DA: 0 / PR:0 / BLP: 29 (no titles, description,..)

Thanks for your help!

It will be hard to outrank Wikipedia and that other PR 5 gov site. For fast rankings try finding keywords that have competitors with PR's smaller than 2 and at most 100 backlinks.

Even if you get your site to rank third, you are looking at around 10-15% of the search traffic. (educated estimation) Which would be around 100-150 visitors a month. (assuming keyword tool is correct)

You then have to ask yourself, what is the value of 150 search visitors to your website?
