NEED HELP!! :( Lost Rankings

Few days back i posted here stating that one of my websites( my main earner ) had grown too large for shared hosting, so to ease the load i commented the_tags line and hence hid all the tags... the traffic shot up and so did earnings as there were no 500 server error cz of the overload

BUT!! After 2 days rankings for almost all my keywords dropped ... there were keywords for which my site acquired top 3 positions on page 1... now they were on page 2 or page 5 ...

I am assuming that it was because of removing the tags which were acting as internal backlinks...

I have reverted the changes and checked the Google's Cached Version, they have the removed tag version of my site in their cache... should i expect something positive once they cache my pages again??

The site is 1.5+ years old

And i dont think i did anything against adsense or google as earlier i had received a message from adsense that i should put more ads and they had analysed my site, and then i also received an adsense webinar invitation, so i believe its the tags .. m i doomed??

I am extremely depressed as it was my main source of earning

    Did you say you were getting 500 server errors? If so that is most likely the cause of loss of rankings. To recover from that you just need to maintain a stable website and IN TIME it should come back. How long, no one knows...

    but i was getting those errors from a long time, and it had no fixed trend... the main damage occured after i removed the tag pages links

    Yes,it can be due to change tag page.As you said the changes has been made in google cache,too.Then you should again do hard work and wait for get your ranking once again.

      Since removing the tags is the only thing you need after which your rankings dropped, then this must be the reason.

      Also I think there's a lesson to be learned from this misfortune: ALWAYS have more than just one income stream.

    Ok here is an Update...

    Purchased a dedicated Server from D9Hosting with the Following configurations

    CPU: Core2Quad Q9300 Quad Core (4 * 2.5 Ghz)
    RAM: 8 GB
    Hard Drive: 1 TB
    Monthly Bandwidth: 5,000 GB
    cPanel/WHM

    The site is shifted from Godaddy and is running smoothly on the new server... I have installed the Wassup statistics plugin and i can see that Bing Bot and Googlebot are going crazy on my site, they seem to be sucking every link they come across...

    Is it a good sign? :-s ... iam just wishing i get back the rankings that i had lost...

    There was some chatter her about an algorythm change that dropped some peoples rank... perhaps that's the culprit?

    Have you been building backlinks on a regular basis?
    Any type of one-way text links on DoFollow sites?

    I notice if you don't keep it consistent, you can lose it ALL!!!!
    yes, you heard it right. Google wants Relevance for their searchers.

    All you have to do is keep making sure you're valued to the searchers
    by getting quality links pointing to your pages to keep your rankings.
