Does Google Normally Do This?

Hello!

Okay I want to add to my income so figured that I would get some reviews up for product launches that are on the horizon!

When my reviews first got indexed by Google they went straight onto page 1 of the search results (this was a couple of days back) however now they are literally jumping all over the place and I've no experience of this before..

I'm wondering whether because this is a product launch and loads of people are writing articles / blog posts about this new product (reviews etc) that Google doesn't really have a clue what to do with them in terms of ranking positions... any ideas people?

Thanks in advance

Ps - Yes I'm a SEO myself and 90%+ of my full income comes from SEO, but I personally don't have any experience of writing product reviews for upcoming launches, so wondering if anyone else does :-)

It is normal for Google. If your site is new you have to wait to be stabilized in SERP. Of course comments and reviews on page change its keyword density, but keyword density is not e big SEO factor so this is not the reason.

I know it's normal to move around just had no experience of it moving around this much in such a short space of time, the site is about 9 months old, other sites of mine don't move around and one of my sites ranks for tough competition and it's only a couple of months old. I'll see what happens I guess :-)

If it is a new product then you are probably correct. Googles index is probably inundated with people publishing a bunch of reviews just like yourself. Give it some time and they will probably settle. But Google is a beast and you really never can be too sure about anything.

It could be due to the huge volume of competitors you have for the same product launch. Of course the product creator site would be the biggest beneficiary as it is the recipient of so many backlinks from affiliates like you.

My suggestion is to keep building backlinks to your review site so that you can be on par with the merchant site or atleast lead the pack of affiliates for that product.

If your site has been around for 9 months, then if you have a Webmasters account, keep checking the keyword positions for huge fluctuations in rankings and how they keep shifting from day to day. There should be a few that have stabilized. Maybe the flux is only for a few keywords.
