Quick Q re: adsense positioning

Ill try & explain this - i have a drop-down article category box above an ad block & a facebook recommend button underneath, the idea being that a visitor misclicks they hit the ad. Do you think id be better off moving the article category to underneath so visitors travel over the ad to get to the article category box?

    If you have a drop down menu that covers an adsense ad,
    that is against TOS.

    And any instance where casual/error clicks are ripe, also is against TOS.

    The first one is a no-brainer. Use your best judgement on the second one.

    Thanks, ill have to re-read the TOS. I remember the use of images to promotes clicks is a no no!

      Google ads, search boxes or search results may not be:

      Obscured by elements on a page.

      It is an arguable point as to whether a drop-down menu violates any of these.
      BUT....you are walking a fine line. One that I always say don't walk it.
