Google Keywords Order

Hi Guys, long time lurker here.
I've usually been able to find answers to all my questions after I started a few months ago, but this one has me stumped. It might be a little hard to explain.

Ok for example:
Lets say I have the domain Dogshairdog.com
And I see in google keywords that:
Dogshair dog has 200k monthly
dog dogshair has the exact same.
Dogs hair dog also has the exact same

Dogs hair dogs has something like 2 million

For the sake of the argument lets assume that dogshair is a word, and is used frequently.

Now from a SEO point of view, should I leave the title of my page to be Dogshair dog (The order words appear in the URL) Or would google rank the page no differently if I made dog dogshair my title.

Cliffs:
If my URL is (Phrase 1)(Phrase 2).com
Will google rank me equally if the title and all info on the page has its name as (Phrase 2)(Phrase 1) rather than the way it appears in the URL?

Thanks a heap for any help

  • Really I don't think it matters much how you order the phrases. What matters is you on page seo and anchor text. Really the anchor text more than anything. As long as you have plenty of backlinks with each phrase as the anchor text you will do fine.

What I also do is I make a category for each keyword I am targeting, then at least one post for each with proper keyword density. So no matter how you arranged the phrases in the domain name you would have them in the url.

A really good example of how much the anchor text plays a role is the George Bush Bomb. If you search "google bomb" you can find it. Basically some sneaky guys were able to rank the George Bush page on whitehouse.gov #1 for "miserable failure" despite the fact that the word miserable failure was nowhere on the page. It's all about your anchor text.

Biggest thing I can say is don't sweat the small stuff like that. Just get a domain that's decent, build a category and page for each keyword in the site, and build plenty of backlinks with each keyword in the anchor text and you will rank fine.

    Hope that helps!

    • Thanks for the help. I guess that is what I will do, the way I wanted it already had the URL taken so I couldn't get it, but I suppose if it makes little difference I can just change my title.

      Thanks again
