Main keywords in url

I have a domain with the main keywords in it, example: pineappletree.com. The main page i want my target to arrive on will be all about the pineappletree. The file name obviously is pineappletree.html. Does Google like, dislike or not care about the main keyword appearing twice in the url? So pineappletree.com/pineappletree.html?

Couldn't find the question on the forum, thank you in advance!
#search engine optimization #keywords #main #url
  • I don't think it would hurt... it might even help. There have been a lot of time where my main keyword is my url and it appeared again in the url.

Plus, depending on what CMS you are using, you can set it so that your homepage is just your domain without the additional keyword.

    Hy,

you always want to go with categories, and posts which contain the main keyword or related keywords. Google prefers something like http://pineappletree.com/pineappletree.html
    instead of
    http://pineappletree.com/8273567.html
  • Google will like this relevancy. your domain name is perfect. i didn't think it will effect badly.

    • Yes thats the right- if you would like proof (from google) do a search on "seo beginners guide pdf"

      will show all
  • It is very much useful for ranking to have keyword in your URL. This type URL increases chances of your site getting ranking.
  • It is true that keywords on URL, title, description will help to boost your search ranking. but it is only on-page optimization. so you must have work on off-page optimization too. keywords on title & description is much more better than keywords on URL.
  • I don't think there would be a problem with the main keyword appearing more than once but I'm not absolutely sure there would be an advantage either. Why not use Google's Wonder Wheel or some similar tool to find closely related keywords and build around those appealing to the LSI (latency semantic indexing) strategies of search engines?
