I understand wordpress run a 50/50 advertising revenue scheme with blogs.
Basically they will host your free wordpress.com blog in exchange for 50% of all your advertising.

Have any of you warriors used this before?

Thanks.

    Hi Dermy,

Not really, you put wordpress on your website and then keep all the profit .

wordpress.com doesn't allow advertising, and the self-hosted wordpress you install on your own hosting so no revenue sharing at all.

But I read somewhere they offer a 50/50 plan for wordpress.com hosted sites that get atleast 20,000 hits monthly? (not sure exact figure)

      edit:
The reason I ask is im not great technically. I have read some threads with hosts crashing and content gettin erased got me scared.

There might be some sites that use the wordpress system where you can then build your own site on a subdomain, but I wouldn't trust that myself, if they go down or out of business, your site and content is gone too. I'd rather have my own site on my own hosting. With a backup in place, you're always good.
