Hi,

I have a site which gets about 500 hits a day and gets about 10-15 clicks as well on adsense.

Only problem is that these clicks are really low, like £0.09 a click. I have added section targeting but still getting low prices. I know it might be the niche am in but i'm looking for stuff like section targeting that I could use to increase the price.

Cheers.

Check Google adwords keyword tool if there are any long tail keywords or related keywords which get high cpc. Then make more pages or posts with those keywords.

Be careful about changing the content. It may affect your standing.
Have you tried adding CPA banners?

I've not changed the content. Only hiding adsense based on IP location.

Not tried CPA, don't know that much about it to be honest.

Your adsense ads are a reflection of your content and your niche. If you can find higher paying keywords within that niche, then focus on building more content around those keywords.

Unfortunately, you are limited by the Adwords Cost Per Click for each of those keywords. If there are no high payout keywords available in your niche, then there is not a lot that you can do except to look for other monetization methods.

You are also limited by the quality of your site, and adwords users competiting
or targeting your site. There is no magic pill. In fact, google does not really
care about the cost per click, but whether your site is effective in turning
the clicks into sales or action. If you fail at that, your cost per click will
go down, no matter what the niche. People also do not realize that great
adwords users get a lower rate.

Best bet: Get more targeted traffic. Your ads will improve also, as more
adwords people target your site, raising the minimum bids.

More target visitors=more likely a click on an ad that will lead to action.

You are already getting traffic and a great CTR!
You should try to silo your sites i.e. You should link your articles which are getting ranked well to different articles on your site which have a higher cpc
What I essentially mean is, you should write articles on keywords of your niche with higher CPC and they may not be long tailed keywords.
For eg, your getting traffic for some keyword like 'how to learn photoshop in a week'...This is a long tailed keyword and you can write an article on 'Adobe Photoshop' which is obviously a high cpc word and link it with your how to article. This way, you can increase your revenue, while creating Inbound Links.

Another thing that you can do is slap some CPA offers on your site to further increase your ROI. Since in my opinion, you should never depend on one revenue stream

    Hope it helps

I don't actually have a blog it's a e-commerce site that I have added adsense to based on IP address for non UK users since we don't ship internationally.

I have set it up on product pages and have little text to work with as it would take forever to go through each page and write text for it. All I have to work with is h1 tags and title tags plus meta description etc

Is there a report in the adsense backend where we can see how we're doing on this metric? Thanks for this info.

And this is perhaps why i think people paying little or no attention to the GAKWT avg cpc's and in fact shying away from the more competitive / higher payout CPC niches, gives them access to Adwords noobs who unwittingly pay more per click in the content network than the savvy sharks who know the game well.

No, but you can do it by a little investigating. If you are getting clicks, but pennies,
start by getting better targeted visitors. Then your ctr should increase. Then you'll
notice an increase in the amount you get per click. Eventually, you will reach a
level that "sounds" right to you. It's different for each site. One site can rock at
one click for $20, while another site rocks at 50 clicks for 50 cents each. My sites
are ones that do both regularly.

The problem comes when one looks for a normal ctr, cpc, etc. There is none.

          1. Many factors determine the price of an ad

More than conversion rate goes into determining the price of an ad: the advertiser's bid, the quality of the ad, the other ads competing for the space, the start or end of an ad campaign, and other advertiser fluctuations.

          2. Clickthrough rate doesn't affect advertiser return on investment (ROI)

The percentage of clicks that convert for an advertiser is the most important factor in an advertiser's ROI, so it's not only possible, but common, to have a low CTR and a high advertiser conversion rate. It's also possible to have a high CTR and a low conversion rate. Don't remove the AdSense code from your site just because it has a lower CTR - it may be one of your best converting sites.

          3. Google doesn't make money from 'smart pricing'

In fact, we make less money, since the cost to advertisers is reduced in order to provide a strong ROI. Ultimately, this leads to higher payouts for publishers by drawing a larger pool of advertisers and rewarding publishers who create high quality sites.

          4. Remember the old chestnut: "Content is King"

The best way to ensure you benefit from AdSense is to create compelling content for interested users. This also means driving targeted traffic to your site -- advertisers don't gain as much ROI when paying for generic clicks as they do for quality clicks that come from interest in your content. Good content usually equals a good experience for user plus advertiser, which can be much more valuable than CTR.
If a click is determined to be less likely to lead to a business result like a purchase or a newsletter sign-up, an advertiser's maximum bid may be reduced.

To ensure that advertisers are getting value from their bids on AdSense sites, we determine how likely a click is to lead to a business result for an advertiser. If our system determines that a click is less likely to lead to a business result, the advertiser's maximum bid may be reduced.
Adwords users can also read between the lines. That's why google demands a great
landing page leading to action that the clicker wants.

They want that from adsense users also. They want visitors that click ads and are
          in a mood to buy.
